There was no City named Nablus During the time of the Northern kingdom it was Samaria. The Region is also called Samaria and its inhabitants are Samaritans.

If anyone ever asks you where in the Bible Jesus Christ admitted that he's the Messiah, show them John 4:26. When he started a conversation with a Samaritan woman. The Samaritans are an Israeli tribe preserved to this day in the country of Israel. Israel is a country of peoples who speak ,read, and write Hebrew. They are more than just a Jewish state.

I thought the Samaritans hated the Jews and used to throw rocks at them ? Not to mention they were brought in by the Assyrians so even if these people are actually descended of those people it's really doubtful that they would be the descendants of the northern kingdom.

You're close to correct. They are descendants of peoples brought in by the Babylonians, who then mixed with survivors of the 10 tribes and those from Judah & Benjamin that somehow escaped going into exile to Babylon. When the Jews returned from Babylon under Ezra, 70 years after the exile, they found these people. Some were viewed as part of the people of Israel because they could prove, despite being mixed with those the Babylonians brought in, that their mothers were Israelite/Jewish. However, some couldn't. So Ezra demanded they go through conversion if they wanted to be part of the people. Some accepted, some didn't. Some accepted, but then reneged. Eventually they continued with traditions that they had started in the 70 year period that were apparently mixed with the traditions of the defunct northern Kingdom of Israel that had adopted Pagan practices and mixed them with the religion of Israel AKA Judaism. They became a thorn in the side of the Jews of the country during the SecondTemple period. Interfering with religious rites etc... Today there are only about 850 of them. So few that they recently CHANGED THEIR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS and allowed their men to marry Ukrainian & Russian women in order to expand their community. In so doing, however, they confirm what the Rabbis say is their historical foundation. Copying it 2,500 years later. Some have left the community and converted to traditional Judaism.

I was told Samaritans are Mixture resulted from marriages between northern Israelites and Assyrians. They have Jewish/Israelites blood.

Many Samaritans indeed left, but went extinct in Syria and Egypt due to religious persecutions by the Muslim rulers. the only community that survived are the one that remained in Israel, and also that by the skin of their teeth. almost got extinct in 1840 when the Ulama of Nablus questioned their status as people of the book, and therefore argued they need to convert or die. the Jewish Rabbi at the time, Hakham Bashi Chaim Abraham Gagin, who decreed that the Samaritans are “a branch of the children of Israel, who acknowledge the truth of the Torah," and as such should be protected as a "People of the Book". it happened again, when Isaac Ben Zvi concentrated them in Holon to keep them as a people and a culture. luckily they didn't go extinct, and kept their culture to our days.

At 10.11 paused it, i was shocked the Rabbinic narrative. It's written on the Tanack. Northern Israel was sacked (Assyria), transplanted and never returned. Judah was sacked (Babylon), transplanted and returned. Samaritans are descendants of Jews and foreigners separated and forced to live in Samaria by Ezra himself. Ergo, they came to being during the Persian Empire. The temple in Samaria was built during the split of united Israel under David. The Tanack is the receipt.

They are not Israelites(Gid had said that He was going to remove the Northern Kingdom ftom His face because of(1Kings:13)and He did.Reading from 2Kings:17:25 it becomes clear that only ONE Israelite(a priest)from the deportees was sent back to teach these foreigners the ways of the God of the place who had allowed lions to maul them.Only ONE person of those deported,returned.Kindly read 2KINGS:17.Stay blessed.Shalom

Saint Mathew warns about what might happen to the lost northern tribes during the second coming. What powerful illusion will be sent and how will it help to separate the sheep from the goats? I don't know. All I know is how to do my best to follow the will of the Lord. Wasn't very good at doing that in the past however I never stopped hoping to learn better.

They converted mainly to Islam and to a small extent to Christianity and today they call themselves Palestinians Palestinians of the Northern West bank and Eastern Galilee are of some samaritan origins but coastal and southern Palestinians are from Judean ancestry

The Samaritans have 4 "lineages" (was 5, one died out in 1968). The Cohen lineage, as with Jews of the same surname, claim to be of the priestly tribe of Levi. The other three lineages claim to be the people of Manasseh and Ephraim. A lot of coerced conversion of the Samaritans to Islam occurred over the years. Many Palestinian Muslims from Nablus are believed to be their descendents, and this is born out by their surnames. The hostility between Samaritans and Judeans evident in the Christian bible began in 120BC when Judea invaded Samaria and destroyed the temple on Mount Gerizim shown in this video.

1.5 million Samaritans 1000 years ago and only 850 today because most Samaritans converted to Christianity and Islam and became Palestinians. And before 1000 years ago they were even converting then. For example, most Palestinians in Nablus descend from converted Samaritans.

No, 1.5M Samaritans lives around 1700+ years ago. As for their numbers decline - that's because Christians and then Muslims were massacring them so much that they were not able to recover until Israel.

The Samaritan mixed with the heathen & hence were cut off from the Covenant , the same was happening to the Jews ,but they considered themselves as Jews from the Mothers side, for the sake of numbers so also cut off from the Covenant when the Covenant specifies that they should not mix both from the Mothers & Fathers side concerning the Faith , Now, the Bible says "Issac & Revecca" were greatly grieived when Esau took heathen wives , which grief was Prophetic to Israel itself falling away from the Covenant So the only way for the Samaritans & Jews to come back to the Covenant, is through the New Covenant by being re grafted,

In other words the Old Covenant has been replaced by the New Covenant, ,for the Jews is to be regrafted & for the Gentiles to be converted, such that as the Bible says there be no difference between the Jew or Gentile, comprises the whole seed of Adam Now,, said Jesus (the 2nd Adam) on the Cross "My God, My God why do you forsake me " This was Echoing the last words of the 1st Adam (who walked with God in Eden), Did God forsake Adam & his seed ? So the redemption is all about Adam & his seed -- mankind, orginally envisioned by God, when he cut the Covenant with Abraham, The Father of Faith, to become children of Faith, for without Faith it is not possible rather impossible to please God (Bible) Now, the danger of following the Old Covenant instead of re grafting is to the words of Jude (that Martin Luther rejected together with *James) " Satan contended for the body of Moses, who are the people of Moses that rejected the Messiah, is but to know who leads a people today through Zionism,, the people of the Old Covenant (a mixed multitude), *Martin Luther rejected the book of James (& Jude as explained earlier) cause it was a hinderance to his erranous view of redemption, through Protestantism's theologically leavening of the Faith by "Faith Only" that James specifically says is not unto mis interpretation Paul & the philosophies that arise out of the leavens becomes to another Christ another Gospel, Give unto God what is to God - FAITH , surely not a Leavened/Corrupted Faith,

Much of the Jewish population of the northern kingdom were deported by Tiglath Pileser around 750 B.C. to Assyria. In place of the Jews the Assyrians deported other defeated people who intermaried with few Jews who were not deported and adopted a form ofvJewish religion and customs. From the time the northern Jewish kingdom was deported, the southern kingdom of Judah cut all ties with the new population. By the time of Jesus Christ, a Jew would not have been caught talking it associating with a Samaritan in any way. Jesus preached the good news to a Samaritan woman and showed that in Christianity the Samaritan, Jew and Gentile are all the same and accepted in the kingdom of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

I was with a group who visited a location on Mt. Gerezim. I don't think it was a central location but we saw the pits where they still do animal sacrifice. I was waiting for you to mention this but no. We were told that there is no marriage permitted outside of the community, not to any other race or religion. At least not if they wanted to still live there. At the time I didn't ask many questions but I sensed some darkness in them.
