Song Angel 0 seconds ago It’s actually closer to 4. He supports 3 octaves plus 5 notes and a semi tone. An octave begins with do and ends with do,, which is 8 notes comprised of 5 whole steps plus two -1/2 steps. He is only 2 whole steps from a 4th octave. However, I believe with the right training, he could have a range like Dimash because in a challenge he produced the highest sound among BTS members and it brought his range into the 6th octave. Taehyung really deserves the title given him by K Media…The Diamond Voice of Korea!

Taehyung is a natural born performer! Jin once commented that Taehyung was born to be an idol, and I’m inclined to agree. You made a comment that his facial expressions must be studied…well they are studied… by other idols who watch his fancams to improve their performance skills. He’s know as the Idol of Idols with good reason! I recently saw a video where Jimin and Jungkook were backstage watching a video of Taehyung and Jimin said, “Not everyone’s face can do that. His mouth can go one way and his tongue the other way.” Jungkook responded, “His whole body!” So they as his friends and bandmates acknowledge that he has a rare gift. Taehung is also a gifted actor and won a Soompi Best Actor Award for his first role in the K Drama, Hwarang. It’s this acting interest that he brings to the stage as he creates character after character to make each performance unique and entertaining. I highly recommend that you watch every Singularity performance from the Love Yourself World Tour. As you could see from the stage mix you reacted to, his costuming, staging, and hair color differed in every city. Those slight differences inspired him to make subtle changes in his presentation, but his choreography remained so seamless that the stage mix could be made to look as though created by magic! His “character” changes affected only his facial expressions, powerful gaze and at what point his connection to the audience was more pronounced. RM said he had the girls screaming every 5 seconds. Yes, Tae has the widest vocal range. Not just on BTs. He's in the Top 5 of K-pop Makes 4 octaves. Tae is a tenor baritone. which means he has the baritone timbre, but the effortless register is tenor That's why he was classified as a non-classical baritone. as there are few singers with this characteristic voice and it is very rare, he is now part of the Baritone Legends. Best first 6 minutes and 40 seconds ever....You got sooo quiet, lol! He absolutely SHOULD be a model!!!! And, yes, people study his on stage presence, expressions, etc. He's incredible on stage. I don't know about an effect being put on his voice in Singularity (not sure if you were saying it just sounds that way or if you really think there is one), but I do know that if you hear him singing without music, it pretty much sounds the same to me. Maybe you'll see some of that in the compilations. He is definitely an old soul. 43:15 - that is from a Behind vid for one of their ON performances.

I really really loved your reaction. It’s my first time coming across your channel and I was so impressed with your perception and understanding of the music and Tae. I hope you don’t mind that my comment will be super super long but I wanted to share my sincere insights into Tae and these videos with you. Just like yourself and Namjoon, who said this in his Tear album review v-live: I also truly believe that only Tae could carry off this song. He suits this neo-soul genre beautifully, and as a result of his performance in this song he was officially added to the dance line. Namjoon wrote the lyrics of Singularity specifically for Tae. This has been confirmed by both multiple times. He read two books which were a big influence: ‘The Singularity is near’ by Ray Kurzwell and ‘Confessions of a Mask’ by Yukoi Mishima. He was spotted with the latter book in many behind the scene videos during the period of time they were preparing for the album. The latter book documents a queer Japanese man’s journey and keeping his sexuality hidden growing up etc. The image from the cover of the book is recreated by Tae in the music video where he holds the flower and there are other references to it in the video. Tae himself in the 2022 Proof of Inspiration clips (where each explained the reasons behind the two songs they personally chose to include on the proof album - In Tae’s case he chose 00:00 and Singularity) said that the singularity music video reflected the struggles in his identity, between Artist V and ordinary Kim Taehyung. ‘That was when I thought hard about who I was as a person, and I felt a bit confused.’ ‘I tended to think of Kim Taehyung and Artist V as being separate, and thought I had to choose one or the other’ Many like to try and link the music video to BU. But BU content are marked as such by Bighit and Singularity isn’t. And while the song also reflects the themes of the Love yourself Tear album, the video is separate. When it comes to Stigma, I believe over they years they chose to be very subtle in how they discussed it because of South Korean societal norms and the delicate and personal subject matter. There is some information that some ARMY are unaware of or choose to ignore etc for their own reasons. First I have to say that Stigma is one of those special BTS solo’s. Like a lot of ARMY’s when this song came out and we read the lyrics, I just cried for the amount of pain that they seemed to include. Tae’s live Vocals in the performance of Stigma are also absolutely insane and really showcase that he has the widest range vocally. His performance also gives me goosebumps. For many years Stigma was a mystery because of what I mentioned earlier and people mistakenly thought it was BU related. Those misconceptions continue to this day. Since so many are unaware and there are a lot of gaps in knowledge when it comes to this song… here are some facts and wider context. The meaning of the word Stigma itself is important. (Source Namjoon Wings Album review) v-live where he said all the solo songs on Wings had important titles.) A Stigma is usually a sign or mark of disgrace which is generally to do with a characteristic or trait that you cannot change. I.e ethnicity, gender, sexuality, age etc. Tae wrote this song alongside Philtre, slow rabbit and hitman bang. Philtre produced it. The lyrics are by Taehyung. Although the Wings short film is titled Stigma and uses snippets of this song. The song has nothing to do with the BU storyline and is standalone. Namjoon confirmed this about all the wings solo’s on his Wings album review vlive in 2016. That they are the members personal stories. He also said that Tae’s storyline in the BU is dark. And this song matches it in that sense. And as you will discover all the members solo’s on the Wings Album are about their individual lives. They are used merely as an OST for the Wings short films of the same name. E.g. Begin is about jk coming to Seoul. Mama about Hobi’s relationship with his mum and how she sacrificed so much for him and how he will take care of her now (in the BU his mum abandons him, another clear example that the songs are about their personal life and not BU.) On the same vlive. Namjoon discussed the meaning of all other solos but not Stigma. He only shared that it has to do with Tae’s personal story so he doesn’t really have much to say on it. That the title was important. And that Tae was very cute when he was going back and forward in trying to decide about his narration of: ‘why did you do that to me’ and ‘are you calling me a sinner’ and whether it should be in English or Korean etc. But when Namjoon heard the full song he understood the importance for Taehyung of wanting to get the narration right and the passing reference I mentioned already to the BU storyline being dark. When they did the Wings album comeback v-live all the members talked about their songs and meanings. Tae only discussed the genre etc. Taehyung has a younger brother and sister in real life. (He does not have a brother in the BU another clear reason why it’s not BU related.) Tae himself had never really talked about the full meaning of the song apart from the process of recording it etc until very very recently where he only referenced the emotions he was feeling when he wrote it (in wewerse magazine 2022), that he was feeling ‘fragile’ and ‘broken’. ‘Like shards of glass’ that he didn’t think could be fixed together again. And that ‘I’m sorry you are hurting like this’ to console his younger self. Before this he only talked about it very very briefly in their tour documentary where he talks about the difficulty in singing it live and his worries and nerves in singing it live and to refer briefly (literally one or two lines) that it references pain from when he can’t undo things and hurts others as a result. This brief mention is what you will see in The Rise of Bangtan Chapter. If you watch it that is. Now some wider societal context and the impact of Stigma for other communities. South Korea is a very conservative country in regards to many things culturally. Thousands and thousands of Queer and LGBTQ ARMY identify with this song and find comfort and solace in it. You only have to read the KZbin comments on this song to see evidence of this. Particularly the line ‘Are you calling me a sinner.’ ‘What more do I have to say.’ ‘Even if I try to hide it or conceal it, I cannot erase it.’ ‘So please dry my eyes.’ Coming back to the song, while for me it’s very clear and I have my own thoughts about what this song is about because of many things Tae has said to us and shared with us over the years in regards to movies that have resonated with him, music and lyrics he has shared etc and all the above information, others may have their own theories about what this song is about. What I know for sure is that none of us can speak definitively on behalf of Taehyung. And until he chooses to talk about this song fully, it’s all technically theory and we can simply enjoy this work of ART. Either way whatever the meaning of the song Tae and every other single BTS member is supported and loved by us all unconditionally. When it comes to Tae and his personality. I also believe he is so precious and should be protected at all costs. His Duality (Stage TigerTae and Offstage TeddyBear Tae) is for me the most intense of any member: As you saw from the singularity stage mix… Stage TigerTae is so many things: Taengerous, Sensual, Sassy, Seductive, Mesmerising, Powerful, Ethereal, Playful, Flirtatious, Confident. He steps out of his comfort zone on stage for ARMY. While as you saw in his other videos: Teddy Bear Tae is adorable, gentle, softly spoken, funny, goofy, super kind and warm hearted, super friendly but at the same time somewhat shy. His number one priority in life is family. He is a fiercely loyal friend and member too. I love that he can be cute and adorable one moment, wild and intense in another to soft and sultry the next - But he’s always breathtakingly beautiful, charismatic, unique, an out the box thinker, super creative, immensely multitalented, elegant, enchanting and hypnotic… he’s a man that can do it all. But above all it’s his personality and his pure warm inner self and soul that shines so brightly for fans. It’s so heartbreaking that many misunderstand Tae’s beautiful soul and precious heart sometimes because of his outwards appearance and famous poker face. Especially when the poker face is there mainly to mask his nerves at public events etc. While both Tiger Tae and Teddy Bear Tae are parts of who he is. He himself says that he shows his true self mostly on Run BTS. I feel like I could write an essay on his personality but I will stop here with the final thought that he is as pretty on the inside as he is on the outside and he deserves twice the enormous amount of love and happiness he spreads to others. How can he not be my favorite performer his strength lies in many factors his duality, his beautiful voice range, his intense dancing that he truly feels and shows even in his facial expression.
