She uses fine tooth combs to comb through my hair, and it has severely affected my hair journey. I hope that, soon, I will take care of my hair. I find that if you Moisturize the hair well when doing the cornrows, then you will not have to moisturize so often. I just Moisturize once a week with this method.

I love how you used wet products and still got a nice finish! I think combing dry hair breaks the ends, that’s what I’ve tried to make it look ‘neater’ . I’m still learning with my 6 year old daughter’s thick hair!

How do you prevent breakage when doing cornrows?

Keep hair moisturized, make sure hair is not too tight. Most of all understand that hair shedding is normal.. so when you take down, hair coming out might not always be breakage but shedding. You can have up to 100 strands per day so if you keep cornrows for a long time, it will be more. Shedding also depends on your health.

You can twist the ends, don’t braid because as you take out, you will be rough and lose more hair Flaxseed gel on the ends makes hair less likely to get caught on things and break Keeping hair wrapped at night and moisturised
