Eradicated is a fancy way to say they’re being turned into steaks for China and Europe. I honestly don’t have a problem with horses bred and raised for meat purposes, but a whole grouping of unique horses that aren’t being selectively bred for continuation whilst being eradicated and sold for meat really does bother me. Brumbies just like mustangs can have amazing genetics that we shouldn’t be callously eliminating from the gene pool of equines

It’s worse than that… They’re being shot from helicopters and their carcasses are being left to rot in the bush.
@fuzznickers Жыл бұрын
@PsychicIsaacs same as the wild mustangs in the US. It's horrible to see and they don't care. Often the ones that get away die within weeks after the way they were hunted.

Have I met a brumby? Yes! I have met two brumbies! I have met Daisy and her friend Cooma at Lisa’s house, and I don’t think that I have ever said ‘I love that horse’ about any horses EVER until meeting those two. There is something very different about Brumbies - they are just so sociable and engaging. If there was such a thing as ‘companion breeds’ in horses like there is with dogs, brumbies would be the companion breed! They are just joyful. I crouched down in front of both of them to tie a shoelace last time I was there - Daisy leaned over the fence and licked my bald head all over like a dog! I’m really not a horse person, I’ve always found the body language hard to read… but not with those two. I knew it was just affection. It was lovely. I was happy to savour that moment - a beautiful gesture of affection. Love those two. Just wonderful. Thank you Lisa ❤

I have 2 Kosciuszko brumbies and I 100% agree that they are the most versatile little horses and amazing to train. It's such a special privilege to have them connect with us after being born and bred wild. I'm still in awe whenever I ride /am around my 2 special brumbies . It is beyond sad what is happening to them in the Snowy Mountains of Vic and NSW where they have lived and adapted for over 200 years. I live in Sth Aust too 😊

Oh my gosh I loved this lady! First of all, I have always been interested in brumbys after reading the Silver Brumby books as a kid. I loved them so much. Secondly, this gorgeous little girl reminds me so much of the New Forest pony (ive had 4, and live on the edge of the forest) - was she similar to ride? The way she was described sounds so much like the forest bred new forest ponies. ALSO treeless and hoof boots?! Also me! Those barefoot saddles are amazing and I’d love to hear your take if that’s the first time you have tried one. I have been using them for about 15 years and have several barefoot saddles. I believe those boots were scoots? Just what a fantastic set up, and I love the sound of the challenge to train them. What a lovely idea to focus on training and groundwork to set these lovely ponies up for life.

Before you guys go and say, "great I hope we still have wild brumbies" they are actually a threat to the local wild life because they have no natural predators and they eat all the grass. I wish there were lots of people going out and training them and selling them or educating people about them because they are great horses but I wish there were more domesticated ones and less wild ones.

They are beautiful and strong, but there are to much in australia, +/- 400.000. so they are a problem for the environment. Also like the camels, rabbits,dingos ao. The government let shooting +/- 10.000/year from those wild horses. There many protest about that, but they are a real problem like for water, flora, plantations... And almost nobody want to have one. Yje government is to blame for all this. They had to act in time, but at the other hand, the real problem came with the mecanization. It's terrible they have to kill those wondefull horses, but i don't have a solution. Even in national park there are to much. In 2000 they shoot in 3 days 600, from the 1700. The brumbies in australia are called like the mustangs in usa. But i don't know if the mustangs are also a problem in the states. I think that if they should be more like taller sporthorses, the problem would'nt be so big. In every case they have to find a solution in australia. Alyssa, maybe you could also make a video about this aspect, witch is very important for this horses.🥰
