Even more heartbreaking when you realize this is the last time he went crabbing. And obviously Nick also dieing, they were childhood friends and one has to imagine that going home without Mahlon there took its toll on Nick.

This reminds me to that one time I've torn a tendon in my knee. The hospital got my whole leg casted for 6 weeks and I wasn't abled to walk normally for 8 weeks. Needed 4 more weeks to get it all back in good shape and condition. But after 8 weeks I got back to work and was told to take it easy and be very carefull. The moment that happens, that's one of the pains that beat a tooth ache or a minor bone break easily.
@Triqkshot
@Triqkshot 2 жыл бұрын
Tearing an Achilles is painful but breaking a bone is worse. Tearing you Achilles is like getting kicked hard in the back of the ankle and then it’s just limp. The pain is there but it’s really not that terrible. Now tearing a pectoral, bicep, tricep, quadricep, abdomen, that’s the shit that kills beyond belief. Abs and Pecs especially.

Ibuprofen is really the only pain killer that actually helps with pain. It won't take away all the pain from a torn Achilles but it'll make it to where your jaw isn't clenched in pain constantly and the only thing you can think about. Opiates help but only because they make you high enough to forget about pain, they don't actually do anything for pain. For chronic pain long term opioids make the pain even worse. Ibuprofen really is legit, there's a reason the military uses it so much.
