Thanks for the video series, guys. I am, however, a little mystified by this particular video in that, other than some disc selection tips, there's very little about how to actually, well... throw an anhyzer. A little detail on the mechanics (e.g. grip, approach, arm, disc and wrist angle, wrist snap or lack thereof, etc.) other than "thumb down" (whatever exactly that means) would be very helpful.

@certifiedpet agreed. if you cannot find a course with trees, I'd recommend heading to the mountain area in Mizzoula, Montana, or there are plenty of trees in most parks to take aim at.

The tree at 1:12 got struck by lightning this year. The park had to remove it. Now they have two huge dead limbs planted side by side in the ground about 20 feet in front of where that tree stood.

The dimples actually break up the air flow to create lift and make golf balls go further.

I don't like to flip stuff over into big anhyzers i prefer to throw high to low and control the angle of the disc with the angle of my shoulders. I throw a FLX Buzzz for all straight or anhyzer shots up to 330 ft

@dogg2325 Obviously it didnt make the full s curve but it had the line to do so had it not hit the tree

If it we are talking about a standard "freestyle" frisbee disc, then yes, it could be done. However, with disc golf discs, the aerodynamics of the discs are designed to create their flight pattern and over/under-stable traits. The dimples would change those aerodynamics, thus causing an unkown change in their flight pattern. I am sure R&D and design could be done, but I see no reason to. I do not know of any holes that are thousands of feet where the extra distance would be necessary.

lol, I consider that an insult against the wildcat : P I use it for super long S-bend shots, but I found an old elite z plastic one used. Picked it up cheap and haven't found anything else that flies that far for my experience level. I may try a flash if I ever lose her. Not a lot of drivers that are High speed understable, and low speed stable-overstable. Wildcat fits that bill for me.

Some 'Quest' discs have dimples, I am unsure of the benefit, I personally cannot throw them any further than any of my other discs.

that wasnt an s-curve shot at 1:10. he threw an anhyzer forehand and it bounced off the tree near the basket. not intentional.

lol love the "cheater" forehand shot. that's how i learned and get plenty of distance that way. my buddies love to grill me.

5:06 "once it hits enough trees..." well you probably need to work on your drive if you're hitting that many tees for the disc to start to want to turn the other way lol

Golf balls have dimples. This adds distance. Can disk be made to have dimples on the surface ?

Dimples cause spin that in turn create lift for the golf ball

@jewelfewel or maybe your playing courses with not enough trees? just sayin ;)
@Chris.Davies12 жыл бұрын
Completely wrong. Golf Ball dimples DO add significant distance AND reduce the effect of wind on the ball.
