Odd, this seems to be a fully competent and highly thorough man who's a model British professional who actually cares. I guess the people who evaluated his academic performance and awarded him a professorship and all the legal people who decided he was one of their very best, leading to his appointment to the highest accolade in his work to make him a member of the King's Council.

What are you sorry for? I do not think he is either arrogant or sarcastic. I think you have misread his confidence and enquirying nature. I say hats off to a very talented individual, an icon in society that seeks and speaks the truth. The truth has No Colour!
