While I completely agree it should be developed I am not sure if it should be the first as the tone is completely different from the rest of 40k.

It does need to start from the POV of a base-line human as a way of introducing people to the 40k universe (as it has to be accessible to newbies too). It doesn't mean you have to stick with them, just act as a jumping off point. I always imagined an untouched world being visited by Xenos and imperial worlds, and then being drafted into the eternal war.

Yes. I'd be happy with either choice but I lean heavily towards Gaunt. Great vid. I honestly would do live action for an Inquisition or Astra Militarum show. And full cgi for Space Marines. Prime has been putting out great original animation of late. I'd trust them with that.

The Heresy has so many good characters compared to any other period. That’s what sells, primarchs and marines. It’s also got the most epic battles and betrayals that people love

The first book I read on warhammer was the space marine battle novel rynns world, centring around the incident that resulted in pedro kantor into becoming chapter master of the crimson fists, not going into detail but one point I loved was the funny moment of a space marine at the end, can’t remember the details but I remember that it was a bit of a funny moment, the brutality of the enemy in that one was brilliant, and the utter devastation they faced, then I started reading the Horus heresy Rynns world is the only 40K book I’ve ever read, so I don’t have enough understanding for to give advice in which to start off with

Cavill is going to star in the first series. He has to. He has stated on a few occassions he can really only play one character. Meanwhile, he loves his Adeptus Custodes. He is going to be strongly motivated to play Trajann Valoris.

He will be 100% Guilliman, It makes most sense. He can be in Horus heresy and is one of the most important persons in Imperium. Space Marine 2 was succesfull, they mentioned Guilliman there.

I agree that they shouldn’t start big with space marines or anything . Eisenhorn , Gaunts ghost or Ciaphas Cain would be the most ideal starting points , Eisenhorn probably the best first choice since it is GWs recommended starting point for the novels as well . What I really hope for is that whatever they pick , they do it right and it becomes a big hit so that way we can start getting more and more quality 40K adaptations. I hope one day we get a movie for The infinite and the divine . Trazyn and Orikan are comedic gold together

The scope of the Horus Heresy is too big to even try and explain the setup for it in one season. So many characters playing their part. While it’s obviously the most interesting story to tell in the grand scheme of things and I would love to see it come to fruition in the end I do think there are easier stories to tell. Especially to easy in the normies.

I bet he will play Guilliman, he wanted to play a Primarch and Blueman makes most sense. After all he can only play one character and since Guilliman was very important in Horus heresy and is probably the most important character in the Imperium in 41 millenium. I would also love to see either Cain, Yarrick or Sly Marbo. My bet is Rowboat Gorillaman.

Definitely would worry me a bit if they go straight in with marines. I can see why they would do that, and it could be visually incredible if they do, but so much of the worldbuilding elements would get blasted to smithereens before we can really absorb the grimdark.

Problem is, if you go Marines it is going to be expensive, as its 100% cgi. If you go live action, you are going to struggle to get photorealistic marines. If you go cgi it may lose mainstream appeal... and this wont be cheap to make (hopefully 😊). Im a bit cautious myself. The world is so open and diverse, you can do virtually anything,but that can be a problem in itself. The last thing we want is an Acolyte or Rings of Power. If the first itteration fails the whole thing is done. Eisenhorn might be the way to go, but its still quite heavy narratively speaking. It will get watered down (as prettymuch any adaption does). As long as they stick to the lore, remain faithful to the universe, fans will he happy. Tough to know if that is commercially viable though. Be interesting to see the viewing figures for secret level

I feel that if you want it to be human based rogue trader would be the best. I love the slight intros to each character and races. Getting the aldari to fight with recruiting a wolf of all astartes. The sister who is one of my favorite, I love the way it’s drone and would be a way to involve new people to the franchise. Cause it literally its own story.

After reading through the vast majority of the Heresy books, marines can make excellent main characters. I think they could start off with the heresy, but I don't think they will. Although, Henry might jump the gun knowing that his chance to play a primarch or Valdor is shrinking as he ages.

There is also the 13th Penal Legion: Colonel Schaffer's Last Chancers. There would only be two continuing characters, Col Schaffer and Lt. Kage. You could revolve any number of other characters through the series and have a variety of episodes. It would make for a good show.

Great presentation, while I agree an Inquisitor based series would be the easiest , cheapest and more realistic route, space marines are the selling point for warhammer 40k, the fan In me would love to see the Horus Heresy , the question is how would they would be able to pull it of without either breaking the bank or just watering it down. With space marines standing at 7-8 ft tall and primarchs standing at 10-12 ft tall I just couldn't see them being able to pull it off without a really heavy usage of cgi or straight up animation. Picturing Cavill as a Garviel Loken or Constatine Valdor or even Sanguinius would be AMAZING though, obviously if you wanted to use him in a 10,000 year time jump after the Heresy finished he really could only be Guilliman or the Lion. Super exited though!! great vid none the less !!

Ciaphas would make a better episodic story. The 597th might even make it possible to satisfy Amazons insane social activism mandates. It's not about regular characters, it's about identity requirements and nothing else.

The books need some additions here and there. And if things go well that way they will move to ravenor and bequin till the latest awaited one. Another candidate is definitely someone that could potentially follow the fall of Cadia till the current state of the matters. That anyone could be Greyfax too. Her story is deep within those. Or they could be multiple characters' narratives that all fall into a conclusion. This would help show the different perspectives and even more if they involve different species.

It's true that Horus Heresy is a long game - but so were the Infinity Saga. Need to start somewhere. And in all honesty I am a bit tired of the "Hollywood-recipes" 🤷‍♂ Like giving us a short contained story with a lower budget, with mostly humans in order to see the potential for the market and growth - and have consumers "bond" with the human characters.. - It is most likely the route they will go, but I really hope they have the balls to create their own WCU so it won't be the usual "Hollywood-recipe" template or copy-paste-twist MCU. I would love Ciaphis Cain as a series, not the first series as it would not set thr right tone for 40k, but later on it would be amazing once the setting is established in media form. Unpopular opinion, i don't think Eisenhorn would be a good starting point, it IS a great book series, but its not right for the setting of what 40k is, a time of endless war, while Eisenhorn, again a great series, doe snot protray that, it does a great job of the daily life for imperials etc, but compared to gaunts ghosts I sould say is better, but a new cast and story would be my biggest preference. They are called ghosts as they are the first and only, the first and last of the regimets raised on tanith, the ghosts of Tanith, not because the operate behind enemy lines, they rarely have done that.

Depends on how much freedom he is given. If Stonewall and GW have anything to say, this project won’t end up happening and it’ll be another shitshow like the Witcher after Cavill left. They’ve just doubled down on the female custodes retcon which shows they have no integrity when it comes to the woke narrative and will bend the knee whenever possible.
