9:44 Gio trauma? Sounds like the first ten minutes of an episode of the digital archipelago.

Tying SC's reading of trauma to a metaphysical and theological interpretation I am reminded of a short book by Roberto Calasso which is basically his musings on the figure of the bleeding Lamb in the Ghent Altarpiece, which is there before creation itself. Upon the act of creation of God opened a space which was not him for something other than him, a wound/b necessary for the very existence of the universe, the primal self-inflicted trauma upon God Himself and the void/emptiness, the first sacrifice made for love

In some slavic mythology the soul of an evil witch or wizard can cling to its body after death and transform it into a monstres revenant. The way to prevent this is to break the body's spine.

Appreciate this stream and though I missed it live I do have a lot of notions listening to it now so apologies if the engagement becomes over indulgent. 30:20 that's still science fiction, widespread acceptance is irrelevant. Embryonic development only serves as a proof of evolution when the theory of evolution is taken as a given.

Great convo! With Love from Romania. The country of Emil Cioran. Of which - btw, you would surely enjoy some! One of a kind rite there, too. The Last Great of French Language writers... ;) Hands down. Take that!

1:39:00 Have we forgot about Goethe, oh indeed. Aber, bitte... allow me to throw in here the name of J.G Hamann. The first person to spell "Metakritik". Dead rite before the French Revolution. Interesting biography. Hochdeutsch was not even a thing, german language, really, in general. Goethe was a big fan of this guy. Who would, after all, Napoleon want to meet, of all germans, intempestively? Ironically enough, to discuss of Werther and his caricatural suffering, of all things. The emperor left all content - allegedly. I claim Goethe Never said One wrong thing. In all his magnificent, long life.
