I understand that more women should be given opportunities in positions of power. However, I disagree with the idea that women should be 'given' anything simply because they are women. We need qualified men and women in leadership roles to guide us as a nation. What is happening in America right now with forced DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) agendas infiltrating everything could happen in South Africa as well, with forced inclusivity. Remember, forced inclusion can lead to exclusion. I would rather be led by a fully qualified woman in power than hire people based on an agenda to check boxes instead of focusing on merit.
