Sir, so you are telling that in case of home visit there is no need to confirm the patient before starting the conversation.

But do we need to confirm the patient by asking his name before we have mentioned the purpose of the visit? I mean like ,once after we introduce ourself do we need to ask am i speaking to mr thomas?then we may proceed with the purpose of the visit Like that way?

Very good question @villageCelebrations We can definitely confirm the patient but not in every role play. It is according to the context. It can be done in different ways not necessarily by the overly used phrases most of us use "Am I talking to Mr../ Is this Mr...". Listening to my explanation one more time without skipping will help you to understand my above answer well. However, I will be addressing your this solid doubt clearly with examples in my next video. It will be helpful for other OET aspirants too. Once again, I thank you for your question.
