I'm glad that Dr. Javitt keeps pointing out that this could be the placebo effect. As much as we want to find a treatment for those disease, we have to keep our expectations reasonable and always keep in mind that we need randomized peer reviewer studies to ensure that the results aren't due to chance or placebo.

Placebo effect wouldnt be a problem at people who are at sleep.
@KingOfMadCows4 жыл бұрын
@@serge1011 Not necessarily. Placebos have been shown to have a statistically significant effect on patients with little to no conscious awareness or understanding that they've received a placebo. Just because a patient isn't consciously aware of something doesn't mean it didn't trigger a subconscious or unconscious reaction. There have even been some studies showing that the placebo effect work on animals that have no comprehension of what placebos are or what pills do.

Hey All! For those who do not know VIP is the last ( and most important) step in treating CIRS. CIRS = Chronic Inflammation Response Syndrome. Anyone who has a Lyme infection or deals with mold knows about VIP. A few papers were put out by Dr. Richie Shoemaker, Dr. Andrew Heymen about CIRS. This is very accessible information. In addition, a spanish group put out a paper about neurodegenerative problems and VIP. See Maria Morell, " VIP in Neurological Diseases: More Than A Neuropeptide. The FDA has considered banning it, I'm glad it now has another use and attempts to ban it will be much harder now.

Dr Yo, interesting to know if leronlimab and aviptadil can be used jointly?
@DoctorYogendra4 жыл бұрын
It has been brought up by many. It sounds potentially good on paper but studies will need to be done first.

Has the bump to Intermediate-Size Patient Population and Treatment INDs and Protocol from the Individual (or Single) Patient Expanded Access made it faster or slower for one individual to get emergency access to aviptadil? I'm sure overall it will increase availability but I'm unsure about the short term access. And when did this change take place?
@JJ1956DC4 жыл бұрын
The move to Intermediate Population Expanded Access gives hospitals a simple protocol and set of forms to complete for rapid site qualification. The single patient program required far more paperwork for hospitals and doctors.

What's the difference between Aviptadil and Leronlimab? Next time, considering LL's multiple indications, could VIP also be used for cancer, Parkinson's, etc.?
@DoctorYogendra4 жыл бұрын
Leronlimab is a monoclonal antibody that targets and occupies CCR5. VIP is a peptide you’re body makes naturally. 70% is found in your lungs. Aviptadil is a synthetic version of VIP that acts like an antiviral to protect the lung tissue and also as an immunomodulator
@michellemosley31774 жыл бұрын
@@DoctorYogendra Dr. Mobeen's video showed that they both work on CCR5. Do they do that differently?
@DoctorYogendra4 жыл бұрын
@@michellemosley3177 - I will have to check with Dr. Been. I do know from immunology textbooks we know that VIP inhibits RANTES (CCL5) the chemokine that binds to CCR5. I posted the immunology article describing this MOA on one of my tweets on twitter.
@JJ1956DC4 жыл бұрын
All of the monoclonal antibodies ("...mab" drugs) are designed to absorb and inactivate inflammatory cytokines that are circulating in the body. VIP blocks the synthesis of cytokines in the first place. Unlike all of the mabs, VIP also blocks replication of the coronavirus in the human lung cell, which is an effect not seen with monoclonal antibody drugs
@stevenlander29684 жыл бұрын
@@JJ1956DC This is amazing news. I certainly hope this becomes widely available much sooner than later. In addition to Covid, would Aviptadil also help in other lung related issues such as asthma?
