Some disappointing news today as Wolves release the season ticket prices ahead of the 24/25 season. Dave gives his thoughts on the situation and we get the thoughts from other fans on the prices.

As an American supporter, I don’t expect to hardly ever attend any Wolves matches. I’ve only ever been to one. Flying to England from LA ain’t cheap. For several years now, I’ve lived vicariously through you all who do get to go. Hearing about your experiences at the games, and as locals, does almost as much to keep me interested and involved in Wolves as actually watching matches. For people like yourselves to be priced out is outrageous.

Cheers for supporting us and the update, yes they need to be in line with othe prem clubs and averages and put more towards players wages. But if they sell podence, silva, guedes etc then why put up the prices? At least 40mill for that lot. If your ever in England and get chance to see wolves again, try get an away match! They usually great and if the wolves fans are in high spirits its usually a riot / laugh if you get the right game.

Disgusting. Us Wolves fans need to make a stand. I’ve said it before they’re trying to push us out. This club was built for local working class people and we’ve lost sight of that, without the local fans the club is nothing but a soulless money making machine. I’m tired of my own club and I can’t believe I’m saying that. Something needs to happen a protest outside molineux some sort of boycott on merchandise otherwise it’ll keep happening. It sounds dramatic but we’re losing our football club lads bit by bit they’re eating away at it and it needs to stop.

Another international fan here. It turns my stomach to imagine asking the the public to pay close to what would be $2000 (Australian dollar). But to add salt to the wounds Jeff Shi also released a statement saying (paraphrased) that if you want to support an ambitious club, wolves are not for you. I feel sorry for the working man/woman who enjoy football as an escape from every day life who are forced to choose between finding some enjoyment in life and maintaining some financial stability. Poor form. Hopefully wolves will see the reaction and rectify the situation but I believe some bridges will already be burned

The sickening rise in costs is one thing however Mr Shi's comments which are basically ultimatums suggesting if Wolves fans are looking for success they best to support another club should see the weasel chased out of Wolverhampton for good!

Spot on, my kids are 5 and 8 got 1 adult 1 childs season ticket brought them every shirt since they be born, wont be long now till they want city shirts like there friends , in the long haul the club are loosing how much money from kids being pushed out , could have potentially been 50 plus years for each of them as season ticket holders
@admiralbradders
@admiralbradders 3 ай бұрын
Just doing some quick maths. At best they're going to make an extra 2 or 3 million if they can sell all the season tickets at these prices. They're already 8 million up on what they were openly budgeting for (14th place finish instead of 17th) plus they're getting an extra few million back from parachute payments no longer being required for a couple of teams coming straight back up. There was a chance here to freeze prices and create a feel good moment and they have royally ballsed up instead. I'm pretty high up on the waiting list now and am lucky enough that I could afford to pay the prices if a ticket becomes available, but I don't feel like I want to become part of the problem by paying it and validating their decision.

From the pride last week of the club to take a stand getting our game back and opposing VAR , the genuine fantastic tear jerking video of mental health awareness to this disgusting contrast of ruining peoples lively hoods pricing people out of games , appealing to wealthier “customers” only it’s inhumane . From a sport that came from the working class to billionaire owners who don’t want to make investments and would rather the fans who line their pockets pay for everything is utterly utterly disgusting. But I suppose that was the plan all along get everyone proud of the club and in high spirits and then break the bad news.

Fortunate enough to be able to afford the increase but feel for the families and fans who have supported the club for years being pushed out especially when Jeff basically says all we want to do is survive with no real ambition. Players and GON will all start looking for the door with that attitude from the top.

Dave, I live in Kent and I have 12/13 hour round trips door to door to come to the wolves. This is it for me. I could justify the cost, time and physical energy back when I was enjoying the game. With the introduction of VAR and it’s malpractice I don’t even celebrate anymore. After the Palace game I said that was it for me but I knew I was lying and I knew I’d be back. Not anymore. This is an absolute disgrace.

Somewhere there has to be a line between loyalty and being taken advantage of. You have to know your limits of what you’ll tolerate. 99% certain I’m done. I can afford it, but that’s not the point. Did we benchmark stadium facilities against other clubs? Or recruitment? I said last season after the likes of Sellars, Clark, Chakraverty etc were shipped out, Shi was very lucky to still be in paid employment. Even moreso now. Silva, Guedes, Cutrone all abject failures and now we’re paying the price for Shi’s incompetent recruitment.

Absolutely unfathomable that Fosun have spent so much time and effort investing in the e-sports business to entice young fans, and proceed to more than double season tickets. Such a bizarre, hodgepodge mess of a strategic approach. Similar price hikes meanwhile for disabled supporters is deplorable, not least at a time of severe cost of living issues for so many.

Me and my lad ST holders, we live in Warrington. Season tickets gone up to £1200, parking £190 for very home game. Then add fuel at £25 that works out at £475 for 19 home matches, then couple in the cup tickets. We could be looking at a net spend of £2200 before food and drinks. Sorry, I'll start watching at home on my stick. Hopefully our ST's go to a true fans that have more money than us. Will always love Wolves but just been priced out of the football now. It's a shame as it helped with my mental health but with the money saved we will have 2 weeks in Turkey instead.

I went to my first Wolves game in 1967. I've had a ST since 1978, Seen us go all the way down to Division 4 and back up. Seen us lose to Chorley then went to Lincoln the very next game with no more than 350 fans there, I now work part time and look after a sick family member, Going to Wolves is my release and break from caring, I struggled to pay last season and missed some cup games because I could not afford it. This is now a step too far. I can't afford to pay it. This is disgraceful worse than greed. I was literally crying when the lads spoke about the people of Wolverhampton. We need a mass protest. How can the disabled and the kids the next generation afford this ? Wim Wolves ay we this is our club lets try and do something about it.

Terrible decision by Shi to increase prices by so much. The excuse he's given based on top and bottom prices from other clubs in the football league is just crap, maybe he's taken say Spurs, Chelsea Arsenal etc and worked around their pricing of tickets. You've gotta feel for the fans who will be unable to renew due to the increased prices but remember there is a waiting list to become ST holders and they will be snapped up, tbh Shi is treating the existing fans with disdain. It probably works out that there maybe an extra 3Million incoming from this but it's a drop in the ocean to what Fosun Group make each year. And as for Shi's statement yesterday reading between the lines he doesn't care a damn about this club. You know, I know and most Wolves fans know that this coming transfer period that we'll have to sell 2 or 3 players (Neto, Gomes, At Nouri, or Killman) to fund any incomings and I doubt if there will be any notable names etc, Shi does not want to invest in Wolves, it's just a business for Fosun. Don't be surprised that GON will become disillusioned and if given a chance elsewhere he'll be off and the odd player aswell. I hope I'm wrong though.

I am a lifelong Wolves fan and always will be. My kids are 4 and 6. I simply can't afford to get them to Wolves. Where we live, it's a five hour round trip and more than £130 if I go with them both (tickets + fuel + food). Or I can take them to see another local team, let's say Shrewsbury for argument's sake (close to existing family). They're tickets would be a quid each. For me it wouldn't be the same, Wolves is baked into me. For them though? Two potential lifelong fans who may end up elsewhere. League One is lower level, accept that, but does that make it less enjoyable? I'd argue not, football is still football and you have far less of the commercialism and, of course, no VAR. I want my kids to be Wolves fans, but suddenly that is a luxury, and I'd rather pick a smaller, local side than have them end up going with a big six team, with whom they have no legit connection.

Full disclosure, I am a South African Wolves fan and wouldn't be going to Molineux any time soon anyway. But these prices are exorbitant. In my local currency its more or less R20 000 which is just insane. I really feel for a lot of the local fans who will not be to afford going to home matches. Every time I watch Wolves on the TV, home and away, what sticks with me the most is the noise and passion I can hear from the fans. It helps me feel connected to my club from the other side of the world. Sad day for the fans

Since my Mom died last year Wolves have been one of the few things that give him a bit of happiness these days. If he still wants to go, i'll pay for his ticket myself, but I think its disgusting to raise prices this high for any fan. Keep up the good work Dave and the rest of the boys, dont let up on Fosun!

I don't live in Wolves, but even as someone who doesn't go to games I know how stupid this is. The fans in the stadium this season have genuinely done more to keep us up than Fosun have this season, atmosphere means everything for a club like ours, a lot of slim results that probably wouldn't have been possible had it not been for our fans pushing our miniscule squad on. I mean for god's sake our squad was WEAKER by the end of January, and you want fans to pay more for season tickets?! What's the purpose of this? What did Jeff say about it? Something about our new prices being more in-line with the other clubs in the league? Well the difference between Wolves and clubs like Man City, and Arsenal is that they WIN GAMES, that's why City fans pay more, you want fans to pay at least £700 to watch a team that can barely field a squad, and has essentially become a relief fund for a Chinese conglomerate on it's last legs? No thanks.

My youngest son has supported Wolves since childhood he's 34. He has been a season ticket holder on the South bank for 9 years. When he moved up country from Cornwall. He is giving up his season ticket simply due to cost ie 2 children under 8, mortgage bills you all understand. He will not change his mind / he cannot afford too. The cost of tickets to your OAPs, Children and disabled has angered him too. I thought we had a bad weekend at Argyle but this is wrong.

I was a season ticket holder over 20 years ago at the Molineux and I had to give it up when my twins were born because of cost and family commitments, I don't know how fans of all clubs afford to buy shirts , season tickets, refreshments in the stadium, travel to and from the game, so I stopped going except for the odd game when I could get tickets on general sale when we were in the championship, the fans have to hit fosun where it hurts in the pocket, stop buying guys, without fans the club has nothing, I'm sure if a few thousand fans stopped buying season tickets they would have to lower the prices to fill seats

Well said by everyone. As a STH in the North Bank, I have "only" had a 17.6% increase, which is £110. Fortunately, I can pay this, but I really feel for the fans who have been coming for 40-50+ years and are now being priced out. Then, to add a further kick in the teeth, Jeff comes out and says, "If you want to win trophies and see European football, then Wolves might not be for you." Who the heck is he to say that? As an overseas Wolf and former season ticket holder it's heartbreaking to see so many loyal fans being priced out of attending. However, if you want to change things, then moaning about it on socials only goes so far - you guys need to organise some protests down at the Mol so that they get the message. The club will rely on Brits' ability to suffer in silence - I mean look at the government you've put up with for the last few years. If this was any other country there would be gridlock in the capital with people protesting how shit things are. Only way to make your collective point is to protest and boycott!!

In my mind it's imminent, Fosan will put the club up for sale, I don't think it's even COVID,.It's ever since the Ukrainian conflict, the government forced Abramavic to sell up at Chelsea, and this has raised eyebrows. A shocking increase in price we expected a small increase but not this amount. I still will renew my season ticket because I love the club but it's not affordable for the loyal wolves fans.

They should have expanded the stadium years ago. If demand for tickets was so high they could have made a great investment. Not just for the matchday income but a future club valuation if they decided to sell. Shame on you Fosun. Fans clearly not that important to you

It feels like the club is being asset stripped and they’re squeezing what they can from the fans. Short term cash flow for them, prior to dumping the club. Long term misery for wolves.

Absolutely disgusted by their behaviour! They have no clue/care about football, to say you might want to find another team! I've been a fan for 35 years, I can't just change allegiance, it's in my blood! I had to give up my season ticket years ago due to raisies. That's me and my 3 boys lost

A lot of unfair comments on here regarding Fosun. I have read Jeff Shis' article in the E & S and I agree with most of what he says... Like everyone else, I absolutely love The Wolves and have been a regular fan since the early 1970s. But let's be realistic. This will be our 7th consecutive season in the Prem. That's the best run in my lifetime (I'm in my 60s). In the last 64 years we have won 2 league cups (we were massive underdogs in both finals), the so called "Big Clubs" regard the League Cup as a "tinpot cup". The likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Derby, Preston (and dare I say it, WBA) etc... won't admit it.. but they will look upon us with envy. To be stable(ish) in the top league is a great position to be in for a club like ours. We are a long way off competing for trophies with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd, etc... but we are a lot closer than we were just a few years ago.

something not right with how that statement from jeff shi has been allowed to be aired. surely somebody at the club would have pre read it n thought wtf. lets be honest though, muggin off the working class side of the fanbase is not something new at wolves. its happened for years. a fans pound note from staffordshire has always been more important to them than that from someone from parkfields or low hill. the rebuild of the northbank with its exclusive central bit, moving kids soccers schools rural years back, the continuous price hikes, banishing the liquidator from our history as it doesnt impress the snobs. a club blessed with so many great local working class fans yet treats them second class. they know any season ticket given up will be snapped up by a more affluent fan. local identitys fading, no wonder the atmospheres shit. its local 10-21 year olds we should be striving to get through the door *just checked where they place the soccer schools these days, they have them in stafford and shrewsbury of all places but not one in whole of what is considered the black country (not including molinuex). so you can see what they are pushing

Boycott the club shop, boycott the North Bank bar, take your own half time refreshments, buy no merchandise, bombard Shi with letters and emails all season. Embarrass the ownership with banners and chants. The Premier League is watched worldwide and they are using Wolves to advertise Fosun to an international audience. Embarras them in front of that audience.
