I’ve watched enough of these interactions between police and the public, it’s clear that the police are fully aware of their policies, but they choose to disregard any of them that they don’t like i.e. the thin blue line among others because they are smart enough to realize there are no consequences hence they have no fear. I can't find solid figures in the UK, but I'm in Australia and just the police call going to call out costs $200, the attendance costs $800 if it's under 15 minutes (driving there is usually 20-30 so double that). So every time you see an auditor get the cops called on them that's about $1200-1800 of tax payers money wasted. Five auditor videos and you've got the price of a good car. NO CORPORATE POLICY should ever be to call the police unless they are reporting an indictable offence. (Edit: TWO cars attended, so double that, $3000-4000.)
