Good evening your Lordship, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this weeks video about how to rebuild the fuel system on the little grey Ferguson and it was really nice to see your glamorous assistant helping you with this task and I would also like to say how much I enjoy seeing those film 🎥 clips as they make me laugh so much. However your videos Mucker are NEVER dull or uninteresting but are really worth taking the time to watch as anyone can learn something new and interesting from them and I for one cannot wait to see the next one and I am really glad that you and your friend Matt(not sure if that’s his name) have decided to restore Matador NUMBER 37 and that will be something that I will enjoy watching and until next time TaRa for a bit.

That Ferguson is Minty. I find it interesting the different terms between Britain & Canada, such as the lift pump as you call it, we call it a primary fuel pump. I always learn something watching the channel.

Same here ! it's great finding out different terms and names

Especially when you're working from an American service/workshop manual, and some of the terms don't seem to make any sense. But I suppose that's Americans for you!

My mate has a grey fergy it hadn't been going for atleast 10 years he wanted to knock the shed it was in down so pulled it out and got him to pull me up the lane put it in top gear let the clutch off and it fired straight away didn't even change the fuel real nice sounding engine have you watched Clarksons farm it's gone down real well with the farmers I've spoken to around here?

I like the idea of the starter being on the gesrshift, so many farmers stand beside the tractor to start it like you did, having it so the shifter is in neutral before you can push it forward to start is a great safety idea

@ClarenceFudWeasel3 жыл бұрын
Nobody is born with skills, they come through doing things and most of all through screwing things up royally and having no choice but to fix them again with whatever you have to hand. You can do it if you want. 40% common sense, 40% knowledge and 40% pressure that you have got to fix it whatever. Get yourself out there and don't be afraid of making mistakes. Anybody who says that they have never made a mistake had either lied or never done anything at all. Maybe me and his lordship will do a video talking about some of the terrible mistakes we have made over the years. But then again, maybe not, some of the people involved are still alive with access to lawyers!

After the safety switch on the gear levers went on our Ford 4600 we wired a push button switch that was on only while pressed and fitted it via preexisting holes to the clutch pedal with a bolt to operate it when the pedal was depressed. Worked well when kids tried to start it

Remember to put some oil in the czm box of the injector pump. Also drain the rubbish if there is any in the bottom. Also at the rear side if some of these old inline pumps there are filters in the housing like wadding. It is sometimes behind the pump so you might need to take it off the clean it.

Interesting vid👍didn’t realise fergie need to start that way. Ever seen Australian International 86 series like our 786 it has no foot throttle but hand throttle very tricky changing gear at right revs. But Ford made most tricky gearbox Rubik cube, definitely one any tractor fan.

I suppose for it's time, the start position on the stick was a good safety feature, as a lot of folk would have come straight from horses. So little training for making sure it was in neutral prior to starting and possibly saved a few people's lives!
