I think you did the right thing. Diesel vs. Gas is a big difference.... Parts would be a nightmare....

I’m working on a d6n at the minute and can’t get it to go below 1.5 forwards and reverse and jumps up 0.5 a time when changing up or down. Gone from a d5 that changed by every 0.1. Is there settings I can change or is that just how a d6 is? Thanks for any help

Great video mate, I’ve always wanted to go to Normandy to have a look round the battlefields but never been yet. One day

If you get this fixed Mucker your next point of failure will be the gearbox! From years of fixing various site plant and these piddly little one ton dumpers the gearbox is the weakest link. Mainshaft bearing and reverse idler shaft were common breakages. Split casings were not uncommon also. In my day you could get all the parts new off-the-shelf, no more I suspect?
@LordMuck2 күн бұрын
I'm working along the lines that it hasn't done much so should be okay, further to that as long as I have one gear it will be fine...

I was subbed to you Back in the days of those battlefield visits. And the reason I’m still hear looking forward to your planned revisits. Is I know it will be an unmissable watch. Very informative and done with the greatest respect to the men who landed on those beaches!! I’m only hear because my father lived to tell the tale.

Did he land on the beaches ?
@Dave.w-ev9qn19623 күн бұрын
@ Yes he landed on D day +10 He served with the 5th Enniskillen dragoon guards. Driving Cromwell tank, though as they battled into France they could not keep up with fuel supply so he was transferred to driving Canadian ford an Bedford m w b trucks.
@LordMuck3 күн бұрын
So he landed around the time the initial wave had stirred up the SS !
@Dave.w-ev9qn19623 күн бұрын
@ He went in to replace a section they had lost. Think he had a ruff spell fighting up through France, he was straffed from the air so hid under the truck. The back diff got wreaked but he wasn’t touched!

Just tear into the steering box, and more than likely, it will be ok with fresh bearing and sealed up. More than likely, a different box would have to be rebuilt as well and maybe worse than that one.

Great video, I've been going to Normandy since 1987 and in fact I was there a month ago. I've also got a little LHD Renault here it's a Renault 4 that has the same engine as the Twingo...... only mine now has a 1.4 from a Volvo 340 (same block but it's 72bhp!)... on another note I believe we have a mutual friend Dave Vickers of digging with Dave.
