Dishwasher side mount installation

Mel you saved my life... I was about to load my 45. Instead I decided to take a break search youtube. Thank god I found you. I looked and looked and looked and couldn't figure out how those stupid brackets work

well well me, been a maintenance mechanic supervisor for 30 years (retired) I told my wife, I don't need to read instruction, well I snicked to check youtube. 🙂" thank you for sharing". now I have to look for the brackets 🙂

Glad to help. It would be so easy for them to give some instructions to install the brackets. Most counter top being installed now have to use side brackets.

Sir, I truly appreciate you posting this video! I was scratching my head wondering how in the world I was supposed to screw the brackets in with the dishwasher in the way. Only some of my generation has written the previous ones off. Most of us appreciate you passing your wisdom on to us!

You have solved my issue! Thank you so much for making this video. I could not screw into my countertop because the dishwasher came out to the end of the counter and I couldn't even see the screw hole at the top. The side mount was the answer!

That's a great video and helps a lot however, my slots are not wide enough for those brackets. I would either have to cut the brackets to fit the holes or make the slots a tad longer.

Yes sir I can see that would be a problem. The brackets that came with my Samsung dishwasher were made to fit the slots in the side of the washer. You would think that if yours came with the new washer that they would fit without modification but since they do not fit the slots the only thing you can do would be to modify the bracket or fabricate a bracket that would fit the slot or possibly put a 90 degree in the end of the bracket and drill a hole so you could use a bolt and nut to secure it. Hope this helps!!

The part that is cut off would be used if your counter top is a material that can be drilled in and is used as a top mounting bracket instead of a side bracket. Hope this helps. Thanks for the question.

Neil, you don’t need the tape - you bend the tab over to secure it to the dishwasher.

My samsung dishwasher does not seem to have any slots on the side in order to slip in the brackets.

So sorry it must be made different from mine. If you send me some pictures of the side area of your dishwasher where the bracket should go I will see if we can figure out a way to attach the bracket.
