When DCA first opened up, The Ariel Ride used to be a theatre that was the History of California Movie. It was for out of town tourists to know the history of california. It had Whoopie Goldberg as the narrator and it spoke of the Gold Rush and Pacific Railway. Its the reason why the ride looks like the entrance of a Edwards Cinema.

You don’t ever never wish to send your kids to be slaves yes I slaves to work for Disney. They only pay you enough money for their crappy apartment with 4 girls to a room which was extremely over crowded 2 girls per queen bed!room and board you work 60 hours a week without any overtime pay and that only takes care of your room and board my daughter got an ear infection and she worked at blizzard beach in Disney world she had a really bad kidney infection they gave her 1 day off to rest. No money leftover your parents had to provide $100.00 a week to barely survive and also provide health insurance so don’t ever have your kids dream to work for slave Disney!

There's no question DCA has improved massively since its shaky early seasons, but I do miss the full-on airfield theming around Soarin'. I really loved that and miss it. I've learned everything is somebody's favorite thing, so you can't remove anything without making somebody a little disappointed and things come and go in Disney (as in life) all the time. It's all good.

This is a great walkthrough of DCA. Disney has done a great job improving this park over the years. Whenever I'm in the Pacific Wharf dining area the architecture reminds me a lot of Monterey, but the businesses represented and the buildings around Ariel's Undersea Adventure are very much like San Francisco. Thanks for giving us a way to visit Disneyland and DCA from a distance when we can't be there.

If I recall, there is no Sally vehicle in CarsLand because of an agreement with Porsche. There are okay on merch and in the ride, but there could not be a drivable Sally. The only one that existed was a decorated real 911 with a Sally face when the promoted the first movie. The closest we get is the one Sally we see before cars go into Ramone’s or Luigi’s.

Fun fact, I actually swam in the bay in the Pixar Pier area that is not kept clean. In 2008 DCA hosted the Danskin Women’s Triathlon and the swim portion was in that bay. Rumor has it that before the event Disney dumped a ton of chlorine in the water and somehow heated it. The water definitely smelled like chlorine and was the temperature of warm bath water, but when I put my head in the water it was so dark and murky I could barely see my hand in front of my face. There were also bits/chunks of muck floating in the water. It was pretty gross. Disney hosted the same event the following year, but they had to change it to a duathlon because they were in the process of building The World of Color (or just finished it) and it was no longer possible for people to swim in the bay because of the underwater equipment that was installed for the show.

That alternative walkway at the Grizzly River Run is one of my most favorite places! I love watching the waterfall and standing at the viewing areas to watch the riders. Once in a while those geysers will send mist over, which feels good on a hot day. Also, there is actually a mountain in Utah named Big Rock Candy Mountain (in Marysvale). My family visited a store there when I was young that sold candy that looked like real rocks. Best tasting rocks ever! Don't know if that place exists anymore, but such a fun memory. The bench was for a smoking area. Smoking is no longer allowed in the parks, so it may not be coming back.
