@@livefree6455 It is not merely what they have done to the characters and IP. Hollywood is already a very unwelcoming place for genuinely talented writers and directors. The only truly great director I know of who is still working in Hollywood as opposed to Netflix or in Europe is Denis Villeneuve, and I estimate we have at most another ten years before he decides Hollywood is not for him, either. I know that if I were published and bidding wars were beginning for the rights to make a TV series based on my writings, Hollywood companies would not get a look-in.

If they did it in an actually intelligent and subversive way, could be interesting, they could find a stark that is the sole survivor of his universe or one where thanos won, who is broken and forlorn, maybe even teetering on the edge of evil or insanity, until he has a whole arc, and becomes the replacement for the main iron man who died. What was that comic, where an alternate universe tony stark is an alcoholic ant-man? I took some inspiration from that for sure.

This is simply where you are wrong. Why does everyone want to ignore the fact that the largest audience for fantasy type shit like this is male. And it always will be. I don't relate to female characters. And neither does most men that actually have some level of testosterone. A good story is definitely needed. But sorry I am not interested in a female dominated LOTR or Marvel or Star Wars. Sad no one has the balls to just admit the genders are different and the audiences are different. If they market towards women men will naturally like the product less. Just like vice versa. Kudos for including Ripley's line about IQs just dropping sharply whilst she was away. In the 1980s, although action films were real sausage-fests, the women in them were often brilliantly written characters. The moment where Ripley goes from PTSD-suffering "why am I even here?" to "get off your arse and do something! fukk!" whilst the Marines are struggling to escape an obvious trap is magic. The old Ripley from the first film who yelled at the top of her lungs at a man who is still a lot bigger than her six feet to shut up was back, and better than ever. Or if you want something more recent, Luv and Joshi from Blade Runner 2049 are a good role model. One is an example of how a woman who has had a lifetime of being mistreated ought to behave, the other a woman who knows when to say "do what you gotta do" or "I dun give a fukk". Or how about Isabel Reyes, who whilst not being able to say much without her daddy's backing, knows how to throw punches, call another woman a "pendeja", and when to tell a man "go ahead, do it". Or there is lady Jessica Atreides, who can effortlessly command men to kill themselves not because She Is Just That Awesome but because an ancient order of women that has pulled more strings than Jim Henson and Frank Oz put together trained her. Yes, women in great and powerful roles in fiction are not as plentiful, but no representation at all is better than bad representation. Writers, do yourselves a favour and watch You're The Worst from beginning to end and see how to write women well.

I’m surprised massive entertainment companies haven’t figured out that if you make movies that would be consider these days as, “for and about white men’s fantasies” (I don’t mean necessarily full of sex or scantily clad women, but action, adventure, thriller, suspense where the lead is a man who’s a capable man or the lead woman is a capable woman but adheres to reality’s version of a woman) they are popular and appeal to everyone. If you make movies that are for women’s fantasies, or black people’s fantasies etc. they appeal to a very very small portion of that audience.

If they keep the majority of the superheroes white and male and there will not be any issues. If you start going away from the majority, you will be known as (the opposite of sleep...I can't say that W word) company, and then a huge revolt will happen. That's what's happening now.

I can't think of another company that has completely destroyed its brand , maybe budlight , but Disney has hit rock bottom and things will only get worse . Their movies have become absolutely awful, and they are pushing back snow a full year 😂😂😂😂

Even Shiggy and his friends look like much better actors and directors in comparison to the dumpster fire that is the whole acting and director staffs of Marvel the Dumpster Fire.

I dont want to see marvel fail. So many comics over the years have so many good stories. These comics need to continue. Marvel needs to continue, but needs to reverse how they are doing their movies

Obnoxious, arrogant, entitled, selfish, obtuse, disdainful and distasteful.... How are we supposed to root for these sentient Funko pops? This era of Disney will be studied for years. Both economically and sociologically. It's like the top brass are privy to some sort of ultimate Brewsters millions scenario.

I canceled my Disney subscription today. I thought Loki season 2 would be as good or better than season 1. Unfortunately it’s not. That was my last straw, I wanted to watch the whole season then cancel the service but alas I won’t watch the rest of the season.

As time pass I think people will appreciate these films, OBVIOUSLY not all but a good number of them….. remember Miles Morales got the same hate but eventually grew on people

Miles Morales wasn't a smug self-aggrandizing overpowered train wreck of a character written by a bunch of ideologues with an agenda to push instead of a story to tell, though.

11:20 it's not the Fans that are speaking with their money, it's the Investors. Marsney hasn't been fan oriented in years. They're scared now because their stocks are tanking. The problem with these "geniuses", is they don't think they have a problem. The first step in Therapy is identifying the problem, "If you don't think you have a problem, why are you here?" They strayed from their business model and bit the hands that fed them. I doubt they'll fix it anytime soon........if ever.
