In today's vlog, we arrive in the beautiful Bahamas and the island of Nassau. With a trip over to Paradise Island and a fun filled evening aboard the Disney Dream, you won't want to miss this Disney Cruise Line Vlog.

In today's vlog, we arrive in the beautiful Bahamas and the island of Nassau. Awaking to a beautiful sunrise, we enjoy breakfast at Cabanas on deck 11 as we approach the island. Once docked at Nassau, we disembark the Disney Dream for a walk around the town and a trip over to Paradise Island and the Atlantis Resort.
We utilised a water taxi on this trip. The price was $8 per person round trip. Boats left approximately every 30 minutes but wasn't suitable for guests with disabilities or mobility issues (due to the boarding and disembarking being rather tricky). We bought tickets from a stand to the right of exiting the cruise terminal within the courtyard of kiosks and stalls.
As the boat wasn't going to be leaving for 20 minutes when we bought the tickets, we took a walk down the seafront. I wouldn't recommend walking around the town if you feel unsafe or uncomfortable with being sold to every 10 feet or so. There's a lot of people trying to sell you taxis and excursions just outside the blue gates.
The journey over to Paradise Island took about 15 minutes but the boat did wait until it was full to leave. I actually liked the boat journey very much and a local was onboard sharing interesting facts and stories. This local was working on tips, so just keep that cost in mind additional to the water taxi price.
Once on paradise island we walked through the Marina Village at Atlantis and then into the resort for a look around. The shops are very... very... VERY expensive but there was a nice little gift shop that Gary managed to find some new sunglasses for cheap.
Back on the ship, we enjoyed lunch at Royal Palace where we were served by the amazing Mao. After lunch we went to the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) talk and managed to score $50 of onboard credit! This went toward the cost of booking the Disney Cruise Line transfer back to Walt Disney World ($39 per person).
In this vlog we also visited the Rainforest Room and shared what we thought of it. We also got to dress up for formal night, see the Beauty and the Beast show, meet Chip and Dale and dine in Animators Palette before the Match Your Mate show in Evolution with Tisa (the amazing club host).

Did you know that you can make payments on a cruise and for Disney vacations? I don't know where you live, but, I know you can in the US. You can book rooms(at resorts) 499 days in advance. Something to think about.

Pro tip: I keep a small purse that is sort of a cross between a clutch and a wallet; when we book a cruise I start putting small bills in it to use for tipping room service. The purse hangs by a strap from the closet door handle. Never have to paw thru our stuff to get tip money when not having had coffee yet!

On Disney Cruise Line you prepay your tips. No need to tip each day. You have the same waitstaff for your dinners (as you rotate between restaurants, they rotate with you) and you also have the same crew for your stateroom.

Gary’s reaction to the sunrise is phenomenal! DVC was the best decision I’ve ever made and worth every penny, however, there is a whole resale market where the cost is a lot less....A LOT! There are some restrictions that you would need to take into account. I’ve purchased two sets off points via resale and do not regret it!

You're so right about Nassau. For those of us that are experienced cruisers, we never get off the ship at Nassau anymore unless we're going snorkeling. There's just no point. Get a front row lounge chair at the pool, let all of the bar boys pamper you, and watch the day go by. There's nothing better than having the ship to "treat" yourself! Glad you're having fun! xoxo

We stayed at Atlantis a couple years ago... meh. It was SO expensive. Everything has automatic 30% gratuity. Everything! Every single one of the things we pre-booked the reservation was messed up. The service was mediocre. Wouldn’t go back personally.

I wish I knew about Paradise Island before my Disney cruise. All that was really mentioned was Atlantis or buying diamonds. The Paradise Island shops looks so cute! We vowed never to get off the shop after our experience in Nassau right off the ship. We did not feel safe. But seeing this with you guys I will definitely take the boat over to see it! I've been very lucky on our first family holiday in 1993 ( i was 1 years old), my dad bought DVC, Old Key West is our resort. He says it's the best investment he's ever made. We're from the UK & i've gone to Disney every year at least once sometimes twice a year since. Never been on a Disney cruise though

Totally agree with Nassau. Once you've done Atlantis, the rest at the port is basically fighting off vendors. Unless you are looking into buy diamonds, stay on the ship and enjoy! The people of Bahamas are nice, but it's a little overwhelming being asked if you want a scooter, chair, taxi etc every ten steps

As you were riding back to your ship, you showed a side shot of the Navigator of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean cruise liner. My husband and I took our very first cruise on that ship 10 years ago. 😊❤️ Such a funny coincidence, but it really made me smile.

Obviously do your research, but I don't personally think the current DVC numbers work out compared to booking on UK offers. I believe the yearly dues on 100 points (which is around a week's stay in a studio during low season) is about £550 now. You can get a value room in low season for around the same price on the free nights offer. And the refurbed value rooms are NICE, I've never thought the deluxe prices were worth paying strictly on a room quality level. Especially for how little time you're in a Disney room for.

Just back from WDW (a first visit) and already planning a first cruise thanks to your vids and vlogs. I have stayed at Atlantis several times and loved it. For those that really like water parks and/or aquariums I recommend a stay at Atlantis. I have cruised to Nassau several times and also liked it.
