The smoke stacks are actually real, the ship has 3xV12 diesels that it uses to get power and propulsion, only the rear funnel is used on the Magic and the Wonder however I am not sure about the dream and all newer Disney ships, anyways, thanks for an awesome and detailed vid!

One of the smoke stacks is an exhaust port for the engines the other is a teenagers only club called "The Stack", and this is the best and most accurate i have seen ever. Well done.

Hi Rob, I'm CharlesGoldburn. The Head Builder of the Disney Dream & the Nautical Craft server. To answer your question, the ship is over "13 Million" blocks in total! Also, the ship isn't steam powered, she is a Diesel Electric and the Forward smokestack is ascetic, but the Aft one, actually is a working one.

I love your channel! I've been subbed for a while and I'm a real Disney person. I also go on a lot of cruises, and I want to say there is actually a lot you can do besides eating, drinking, swimming, sleeping, and lounging. There are a lot of activities that cruise directors run like contests, competitions, some movie things, sports events, etc. There are also tons of shows and tons of different things on cruises. Its a mix of both relaxation and energizing. I think you'd like cruises, Rob (: KEEP DOING YOU!

Cruises aren't just doing nothing and relaxing, you stop at many place's on a cruise, including Cast-away Cay! Also Disney is great at having constant things to do! When I went on the Magic Boat, I mean ship, I participated in Contests, classes, and parties! But If you are the type of person who just likes to chill, there's that too.

I know that on some Disney Cruise Line ships they have these Broadway style shows I'm not sure if Dream is one of those ships but I'm guessing that's what the theatre with the red curtain is used for.

Disney cruises are sort of a combination of a regular cruise and the Disney parks. Like you said there is that element of relaxation, they have loads of options for that, but there's also plenty of activities and things to do there.

Hey Rob! Great video! The first theatre is the Buena Vista theatre which was the first cruise ship cinema to show 3D and they just show Disney movies. The front funnel isn't in use and the second is needed to power the ship but they wanted it to look like an iconic cruise ship from the 30s. They ships colours match Mickey's original outfit and they had to beg to make the lifeboats yellow and not orange. When I remember more facts I will let you know :) I hope you can use this information in your videos!

I remember going on the Disney cruise back in 2000. I honestly cant remember a thing about it other than going on it but now that I see this ship It's actually starting to come back to me bit by bit. I vividly recall a lot of the details now after watching this but they definitely didn't have the aquaduck back then lol. Crazy.

the smokestacks werent meant to be aesthetics. DCL originally for the disney wonder thought that they needed 2 smokestacks at least, because of the technology they THOUGHT we had. Then, after building it, thats when they found out, and added something in the funnel, and did the same design for other cruise ships.

Cool fact about the construction of the disney dream, they had to build it in two places far away from eachother, because it was too big to build in one area. Once both sides were finished, they brought the two together and melded them. Just a fun fact!

Actually, The Disney Dream was built from 2007-2009 at the Meyer Werft Shipyards in Germany. I think you have it backwards because they built 2 ships at 1 shipyard not 1 ship at 2 ship yards. They Built both the Disney Dream and The Disney Fantasy at that shipyard at one time. Ships are always built at one place, because the critical mass of combining a ship in nearly impossible because of money and physics. If you only have half a ship you can't transport it because it would get flooded with water. Also, cruise ships are riveted not welded because welding incorrectly decreases the structural integrity of the ship. This ship compared to other cruise ships is not large. It is large compared to other Disney Cruise Line ships. The largest Royal Caribbean Ship, The Oasis of the Seas, is 30% longer and 43% wider than the Disney Dream.

I went on the fantasy which is supposed to be pretty similar to the dream and this seemed VERY accurate. But I also want to add that cruises are for both people who want to do nothing and do a whole lot. There is a lot to do but it is all optional.

Now it's working!! I love the disney cruises!! I'm only been on the magic and wonder but they are amazing. LOL at "is this a cage?" when you were at the sports deck and I love your reaction to there being 2 theaters on the ship. "Aft" means the back of the ship. Are you a DVC member Rob? My family are DVC members so we use our disney points for the cruises. And you don't have to do nothing on the cruise. There's TONS of activities to do, movies to watch, and excursions on shore at ports of call. :)
