It all started while watching a KZbin video about a general merchandise store in Disney Epcot. The lady filming the video casually pointed out for a short moment that it was next to the Precious Moment's store. That small flash of video had me rewinding and pausing. What is this? Precious Moments? Dolls? Why do they look so big? Well a furious search later, many texts to my best friend, and I was looking up all I could to find out about these dolls that noone seemed to know about. I found very few videos and most were a rather quick glimpse. Chad Allen had a few thank goodness so I could get a little bit more of a look, and some amateur video from 4 years ago gave a bit of a store overview. Why is there not much more than that? Well from what I was able to find, I knew I wanted some. After a conversation that led to my best friend saying, "hell woman, just add it to the list, I'll get you whatever you want.", I wrote down, '2x Precious Moments Dolls'.
Yes well, and well again, once I got to the store, which is easily overlooked by the way and I can understand how friends that have been to Epcot several times didn't even know about it, I was blown away by the cuteness. There was way too many that I wanted, and way too little time to select. My best friend said grab what you want, which resulted in 4 dolls. We had friends with us and I didn't want to bore them with my doll nuttery, so I knew I needed to choose before they all died of starvation. Honestly, there are SO many amazing dolls here, large and small alike. They have such a wide variation too. The Epcot event variations, the anniversary variations, the standard Disney Princess characters, main Disney characters and alternative Disney characters (such as Pooh or Stitch). All designed with the character's personality and looks moulded into doll form. See the Minnie Mouse version I show on my video - stunning!
After rejoining our friends with 4 dolls we made a mad dash back to pick up another 2. 6 in total.
So where to find this stall? There is a walkway to the food side of Epcot that a lot of people were following through, with a merchandise store to the side, the doll stall is just infront of this. It is so easy to miss as your natural brain pathing takes you to the right with traffic, rather than to the left. Even then, if you go to the store, unless you leave through the side door, you have a chance of not seeing this unique stall. It needs better advertising - or some way of waving at the traffic flow to say "hello my friends, we exist"!
The pricing was fair from memory, but I cannot quote the exact amounts we spent on each one. Just that I remember thinking it was reasonable given the outfits and size.
Which one is your favourite? Mine is Mary Poppins, followed closely by Minnie. GOD I WISH I GOT MICKEY MOUSE!? Argh! I am a dingbat, but such is life. Always ask yourself, if I walk away, will I regret it later? If the answer is even a slight yes, do yourself a favour and get the damn doll lol!
