I wish Disney went back to 2D animation. 2D is simply more expressive, raw and diverse than 3D. Looking at the past 12 years, Encanto, Raya, Moana, Big Hero Six, Frozen and Tangled look almost exactly the same. But during the Disney Renaissance we had movies coming in all different styles.

@@phlpcockrell it does. It's the first animted movie made with synchronized audio and full in colors. It introduced the concept of the disney princess. Every dwarf is characterized with detail, you remember every one of them. The antagonist is frightening, the scene where she trasnforms into an oldy lady has marked the history of cinema, as long with many others as well (Snow White falling after eating the apple, the scene in the dark forest, Grimilde's death, the ending...). It's a masterpiece, not a "good movie"

Originally, the Snow White's Prince would have more action on the screen, where in the middle of the movie, the comes to the castle to visit Snow White again, but he was arrested by the Evil Queen. This doesn't happened because at that time, Disney had more difficulty to draw realist men.

For me, the 1940 releases are the best for two different ways. Pinocchio was a big step for Disney, being much more enjoyable with much better characters than Snow White, and not just 1 or 2, but 5 memorable villains (Honest John, Gideon, Stromboli, The Coachman, and Monstro). Not to mention one of Disney’s most famous songs, When You Wish Upon A Star. As for Fantasia, the pure artistry of the film is breathtaking, from The Sorcerer’s Apprentice to A Night On Bald Mountain.

Wow I see you actually listened to me on the Disney renaissance villains video about separating Gideon and Honest John and you actually did that lol I know that because I remember that comment from that video also by the way the hunter from Bambi is actually named man. It’s a really weird name lol. But I do agree with the top 3. The Evil Queen literally murders people for being prettier than her The Coachman puts children in fates worse than death And Chernabog is not only the literal devil but he literally destroys villages and breaks apart the entire Earth. Since Frollo and The Horned King are not in the golden age era I do agree that Chernabog is the most evil in that specific era.

My Ranking: 5) Dumbo: Tbh, it’s not really a bad film but 80% of the film is really sad and some sequences can actually be unnecessary for children to watch but it’s still an enjoyable feature. I just didn’t like some of the characters due to the harassment and the bullying that they subjected Dumbo into. Timothy imo is probably one of the most underrated characters that Disney had ever had. 4) Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: This film started it all. The animation and the background combined and integrated together is completely perfection. I did love the character development for Grumpy and the Evil Queen was an awesome villain. It did had some flaws but I’m not gonna write a paragraph and point it out. 3) Pinocchio: Honestly, this film is a masterpiece and will forever remain as one of the best animated films in history. I did love the story, I love the characters, the animation was incredible and it really conjures magic and nostalgia. The only issue is the sequences where it shows the children turning into donkeys. 2) Bambi: The animation and the background is really executed in a breathtaking way. It shows about a deer living in a forest and learning the basics of nature. It doesn’t lack Disney’s charm and I still love it. The voice acting and the emotions is amazing. 1) Fantasia: It doesn’t deserve the hate and the backlash. It’s obviously a masterpiece and no one can deny it. It combines animation and the classical music. The choreography for the Nutcracker Suite blows me away and I will forever love this film. I especially love the sequence with Chernabog and the sequence with Mickey Mouse.

This is the way I ranked them too. It's funny how many dark elements are in each of these films. Bullying and harassment and humiliation of the orphan Dumbo, and Pink Elephants on Parade. The evil Queen trying to kill Snow White and eventually the Death of the evil Queen. Pleasure Island and Monstro in Pinocchio are just disturbing. The death of Bambi's mother was very dark and the forest fire sent me into a panic attack. Finally, Night on Bald Mountain sequence in Fantasia.
