I've been doing youtube in the living room since 2007 probably, my first blu-ray player had an app for it. When I got my new computer last year, I had them build a blu-ray reader/writer into it, then I shoved my whole computer desk right under my big TV. I got a wireless keyboard and trackball mouse, so I can do games, consoles, discs, streaming, itunes, recording studio, video editing, all from my recliner. Best thing I ever did, terrestrial TV is a distant memory for me!

Exactly this. I'm done with Disney Star Wars. I have mentally retconned it all. Han doesn't get killed by his own son, Leia never flew through space, Luke didn't drink the milk or throw away the lightsabre, and Lando was definitely never a pando in love with a feminist droid. I might dig the Timothy Zahn and Michael M Stackpole extended universe books out of the attic to help purge it all from my mind. Darth Kathleen's eventual downfall is the only thing about it that interests me now. Gina Carano throwing her off a ledge would be cool, but I don't suppose it will be that dramatic 😅

3 Body Problem was a mixed bag, but one where the positive outweighs the negative. The book is indeed not character driven, which is a shame because when it focuses on Ye Wenjie's inner turmoil and how (spoiler) she went from an orphan teenage girl to a resentful woman willing to sacrifice Earth, it's actually great. So I would say the show did a good job in fleshing her out (Rosalind Chao killed it, she was my favorite part of the show) and creating protagonists you root for, even though they were a mixed bag too (Jin and Will I liked even though the latter's wide eyes and dumb smiles graded on me, Augie was annoying, Saul was a complete non-entity until the last episode where suddenly he's supposed to be the real deal, and jack was a caricature of geekdom). Reaper pointed out the many, many plotholes and contrivances but most of them are in the book as well, which is why I've never understood why it's THAT popular in the first place. Anyway, a pleasant watch overall, with lot of potential still, but Gary is right, it will be forgotten in a matter of weeks and that's a shame. It could have been truly great and epic like the first seasons of GoT and Westworld were, despite their hiccups, if they had given it time to breath and build up momentum.
