That doesn't make any sense. Should they have not then announced any of the Hong Kong Disneyland news out of respect due to the issues going on there? I think they didn't annouce it because it's not happening or they're not ready to say anything about it, because it's still in very early stages of development.

Who knows. The people designing these are probably just told to wedge Disney characters anywhere they can now. And are the same people who decided to put a Beauty & the Beast dining area in a Victorian themed hotel instead of a soon be opened hotel that is actually themed to France.

The stuff for Epcot looks amazing, especially Cherry Tree Lane. I already want to plan a trip out there to see it all when its finished. I am however very disappointed for the lack of DL announcements. However, its not our 50th, so I get they want WDW to be in tip top shape before then. Next will be DLs 70th, so maybe we will get some new, much needed, things on the west coast. Tomorrowland severely needs it.

A Princess and The Frog restaurant is a great idea, but surely it should be at one of the Port Orleans resorts! However I did pass away at the Mulan Reflections comment!😄 I think the Star Wars Starcrusier is gonna be incredible but could be confusing to people who don't watch videos like this or do their research. Its quite clear if you do the deep delving that you need to go with the immersive style and count this as an Star Wars collective experience as if an excursion of your holiday rather than book to stay their for 1-2 weeks and keep repeating the 2day adventure. I think it will for sure increase the amount of split stays, with people doing the Star Wars stuff and then having the rest of their holiday as normal🌟

I’m with Michael. I’m cautiously optimistic about the Epcot changes, but the PR hard sell by the Disney execs like chapek explaining Spaceship Earth and “Walt’s Vision” to hard core Disney fans who know better is just insulting our intelligence. Walt wanted a community of tomorrow where people lived and worked, so the fact they’re rewriting history instead of admitting they chickened out and took it in a different direction is really rich. I love Epcot , but acting like it’s ever truly been Walt’s vision is completely disingenuous. And Never underestimate Disney execs’ ability to tinker with things and screw them up ie the auction scene on POC. They like to hype changes up and then have epic fails or half-ass it. I’m with Craig on Epcot forever. It may be even better than HarmonioUS which sounds cheesy imo. People commenting on it during the announcement said it sounded like HarmonioUS was funeral music for death of older Epcot 😂 I hope it’s good but I’m still cautiously optimistic Is anyone worried about the future or Disney travel agents after the debut of Disney Genie? It sounds like a digital travel agent 🤷🏼‍♀️ I agree with Tom! Tinkerbell or Pinocchio characters would’ve been better. What would be better for a ship called Wish than characters from the movie with the iconic Disney song When you wish upon a Star? 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄

The reality is that if Walt had lived longer he would have discovered just like the Imagineers discovered that the ideal of EPCOT was never going happen. The horrors of Vietnam, the energy crisis of the 1970s and the economic state of the Disney company itself in the 1970s would be a reality check for Walt and I'm sure he himself would alter the initial idea of an experimental prototype community of tomorrow as if we lived among George Jetson. So the fact that the WED continued to develop the idea in any capacity in the late 70s was amazing...not an act of cowardice.

momokoblue I don’t agree. If Walt had lived longer, I’m sure a lot of things would have been different including both the movies and the parks. It’s not crazy to be foreword thinking...it’s called being a visionary and a creative genius. I’m sure his vision for Epcot would’ve evolved somewhat, but no one can say that he couldn’t have done some version of it if he really wanted to. There are medical communities where people work and live and research, so these communities do exist today in various forms. It sounds like what they’re trying to do on a much smaller scale with immersion in many attractions and lands at WDW and Universal. He wanted complete immersion as an entire community. Genius! People doubted Walt throughout his entire life, and they thought many of his ideas that came to fruition and were successful were initially “too risky” or “outlandish”. Without risk, there is no reward, and without vision you can’t advance as a society. I still think it was cowardly to abandon his vision for Epcot entirely, and it was fear that lead them to repeat so many of the DL rides for the MK in WDW. I don’t dislike what they did with MK or Epcot...I love all of the parks...but I can’t say they’re accurate representations of Walt’s original dreams for WDW.

Sure, he might not have lived to see Vietnam, but he lived through WWII, likely one of if not the most horrific period of time in human history. Economic strains are a much more legitimate concern, but at the same time, creative visionaries aren't nearly as shook by those periods as other more removed business heads.

I would not worry about the future of Disney travel agents. Disney has yet to put out a website or app that worked. And it's also not factoring that human element that an experienced TA can bring.

Michael Flaherty I've been out of the loop of watching these guys for about a year now, for whatever reason. But I remember that being a running joke for a while with them and I think it started in 2017, maybe 2016. And it spawned off of one of their WDW DIS weekly shows, couldn't tell you which one. But I think it had to do with a Disney sponsored event they went to where they pushed that hashtag, and the crew started jokingly use it when explaining things they've done, or maybe it was a Disney ad campaign they were running at the time. Not fully sure. But I hope this was helpful and if any hardcore DIS fan knows the exact story hopefully they'll correct me.

I was really hoping for a Tomorrowland expansion for Disneyland because I really want to see the PeopleMover track go away if it doesn't reopen and see the land get a new facelift. I also knew deep down that it wouldn't happen, but I was also partially hoping for TRON: Lightcycle Power Run to come to that park as well. Because it didn't happen, that means it will either be announced at the next D23 Expo or earlier than that. I wasn't disappointed about not hearing about a Brazil (or any other country) pavilion for EPCOT, but I was shocked because of I really felt like this would be the year to hear it. I also would've like to hear an announcement for a Disney Skyliner expansion, but I am guessing that they're waiting to see if it will be a success or not before they announce that. I also wanted to hear about a replacement for Stitch's Great Escape at the Magic Kingdom (that also took me by surprise when it wasn't announced. And even though I don't care much for the international parks, I would've still liked to hear more about the expansions at Hong Kong Disneyland and Disneyland Paris, and whether the new Zootopia land for Shanghai Disneyland would also be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom (which I knew deep down wouldn't be happening just yet) or Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris.

I don't think Disney would have dared to announce a Brazil Pavillion when Brazil is setting fire to half the Amazon. Low point no new TomorrowLand at DisneyLand. Even lower point Target Disney store. Highest point? Mary Poppins( Off We Go) attraction. Thanks for all your time. Cheers, Chris Perry.

I'm not big on having a Walt statue in Epcot. I agree Epcot as it is isn't his original vision for the concept so it seems out of place. But he is still the face of the company in regards to dreaming, creating magic, and the like. So I can talk myself into being okay with it as honoring the legacy of the founding dreamer of his namesake's company.

I didn't realize Spaceship Earth needed an update. Did they... have they... ever ridden Spaceship Earth?! It is a story. It's the story of the history of our world, through technology / communication. Please don't get rid of the burning of Alexandria, but you can get rid of that smell. 343Films Well the end use to have more animatronic scenes but were pulled out when AT&T pulled its sponsorship(since the scenes were tied to that). I am most hoping they fix that part up with this update.
