Disney Price Increases 2024 | All Streaming Services Going Up

For the ad-free option, there isn't a real reason to jack up the rates. Because if they do, you will get to the point where folks say 'so long' and just drop it and not bother with the ad-filled version. So far, I'm ok with my netflix ad-free standard plan's price. I don't know what my limit would be for me to drop it completely. Having been subjected to the Paramount+ ads on that channel for a few days (I guess until the browser started working properly again) I really don't want to deal with 6 or 7 minutes of ads every hour. Especially, as not a single ad was appealing to me. For ad-filled versions, they also don't have a real good reason either, but not for the same as the ad-free. If they want more money, well, do what super bowl rights holder does every bloody year: raise the price of a 30-second ad. If they keep the ad time down to say less than 5 minutes per hour, then folks will stick around. Oh, does netflix ad, hulu ad, and the other versions show the respective logo on the screen during content? Those logos are a deal-breaker for me. As I've ranted about in other comments, I never want to see a logo or any text on-screen during content, even if I'm watching ad-filled versions. At least P+ doesn't slap their logo on the screen during their content. As for your survey, I don't have any of those channels, but I agree that the ABC chieftans are basically just lining their respective pockets.

I built a spread sheet to keep track of all my streaming services. I had to do this in order to monitor my expenses and turn off and on services as needed. A good amount of work, but paying off in the long run. Not a fan of Disney, so only thing that is affecting me is the $1 price increase for HULU no ads.

What again!!! It’s probably cause they know people aren’t paying for cable so they will get it. This is why I’ve taken your advice and I now find my self pausing subscriptions as I need to.

While, I would normally like to be able to just keep some streaming services and never sign-up for others but, this is starting to become more of a challenge. This Fall, I may be saying good bye to keeping Netflix. Hulu, and Paramount Plus on a monthly basis (smile ... smile).

It can be that way, especially if you subscribe to a premium live service, have multiple apps, and don't get rid of services you don't watch.

Hulu has the best shows so I’ll keep it. But I’m tired of the price inscrease. I can’t even enjoy watching football now cause we have to have paramount to watch it. Now with the new NBA deal we will literally have to pay for 4 different streaming services just to watch basketball

Yep, especially the forced increases with little, to no, value added. If you add something, we get the hike (even if we don't like it). But, so often, that's simply not the case.

Hi John and Nicole the real reason Disney raised most of their prices they want to point the streamer to the Hulu, Disney+ and max plan. As it brings them the biggest profit point of 30 dollars. Which is the highest price for a streaming service. Meanwhile it's a win for the customer as you are receiving each of those ultra premium services ad free for 10 bucks each. As a customer your not beating that price anywhere in 2024. The bigger selling point also as a customer it's likely not to see a price hike for about 2 to 3 years. As it's a bundle package deal with an outside vendor ( Discovery Bros). So it would take a lot of work a paperwork to initiate the price hike. Plus can be seen as an attraction. Therefore maybe it can challenge Netflix for the top spot. This bundle package situation may very well be the reason why Walmart+ customers didn't feel the painful price increase when Paramount+ raised it's prices. Once again Paramount here may have also raised it's prices to point their customers to the Walmart+ deal as well. Then customer service issues involving Paramount+ become a Walmart issue rather then Paramounts.
