My parents lived exactly 10 hours away when my daughter was a toddler. We had all the same things you bought! We also used stickers. For sons reason my mini me loved putting stickers all over her clothes which was fun and easy to clean up. We also used Melissa and Doug water color books. Totally mess free and non toxic. If I think of more ideas I’ll add them in. 😂

@@BekahHart the dollar store was great for stickers. I found the water color books locally. Have fun and listen to Disney music. Remember - the vacation starts the moment you pull out of the driveway. Laugh when it feels like chaos and have fun! ❤️ Can’t wait to hear how it goes.

Those books with the buttons, we always laughed so hard at the remixes that were created when she switched buttons before the sound completed. Car seat trays are amazing.

Yessss 🤣 We have other toys that have a similar affect, and the remix that comes out of those buttons is hilarious lol. And I’m super pumped for the car seat tray!

We love our princess tray and it washes so well in the washing machine!

We used that exact carseat tray for a 14h each way trip. It was truly a game changer, BUT we found the tray did not wipe down as well as expected. It has a slight texture to it. I would do a test run before playdough on it. Our life saver was on this trip was stopping every 2-3 hours she was awake and letting her out of the car for about 30mins.

Good to know!! Man I wish it was a plastic instead of having texture on it, seems like it would be way more toddler friendly 🤷🏼‍♀️ And oh yes, we’ll make sure to stop to get those wiggles out ☺️

Yes, you need all the things to help with a long trip. 👏🏻 Our Disney drive is 12 hrs and we actually prefer driving than flying. Just because we like to pack what we need and not have a restriction. We also have a storage place for toys and snacks. I made pencil pouch sensory bins. (Pom Pom balls, extra large beads with string, stickers, etc.) I also go to the party aisle and find little trinkets and on the hour or in a meltdown gave my babies a trinket. Worked every time! Have fun on your trip! 🚗

The tray is adorable but I would suggest as soon as it arrives, use it several times in the car around town to get her used to it before the big road trip.

We drove from Nashville to Disney with John at 2.5! One of our biggest hits was bringing a small simple calculator. 😅 I had someone give me that tip and it actually entertained him forever! We don’t really do much screen time at home but on road trips….. all bets are off. 🤣 Don’t feel bad about movies / shows haha! Plan to stop every two hours or so to get wiggles out! It helps so much! ❤️ You’ve got this!

Wait, that’s so smart 😅 Ellie is already obsessed with playing with Andy’s work calculator, so a small one for her would be amazing. And yes to the stops 🙌🏼 Pre-kid life, Andy and I would avoid stopping at all costs and drive until our tank was empty 😂 So this will be a different kind of road trip for sure lol.

This is so great! We’re actually considering this road-trip in the opposite direction (Disney area to Nashville) to visit family. Seeing other moms make it work makes me feel a lot less intimated by the whole ordeal.

You've got this! I've found the more worried I was before the trip, the less problem we had during them. Just one word of caution (my twins are almost 21 now) about the tablet being brand new. Depending on your child, sometimes new technology can be extremely frustrating to kids. Yes, once they get them figured out it can mean hours of easy travel but a frustrated child who can't get the contraption to do what they want can potentially be a nightmare. Just something to think about, like when the tablet activity time comes just be sure that's not the time that you or Grandma are hoping to nap because that could potentially back fire. Of course, now that you are thinking about it it probably won't happen but again, just something to be mindful of. Have a fantastic trip and just treat the drive time as part of the total experience (not just a means to an end). Mindset and expectations are everything!

That’s such a great point! Thinking about it now, it might be a good idea for me to let her get the hang of the games I’ve picked out for her these next couple weeks before we leave 🙌🏼 Hopefully that will help prevent any frustration on her end in the car. Thanks for the tip!!! ❤️

I would never have had the patience to drive that far when my son was little😵 He's 28 now..lol! Looks !ike you are prepared! Did you rent a car? Going next year. If airfare, ect doesn't improve, we are thinking of driving from Indiana (16 hours😲).
