The reason most people don’t enjoy pineapple is because in the mainland most pineapple pre cut at the grocery store or side shops, the pineapple is not fully ripe yet. That’s why it’s either fibrous or hard and crunchy. Pineapple should let be cut and eaten until it’s beyond yellow in color and almost brown. That’s when the fruit is most ripe, the fibers have been given time to breakdown, sweet, and juicy! If the acid burns your mouth too much, lightly sprinkle salt before eating and it helps kills the burn of the acid. Now you know how us Hawaiians enjoy pineapple and why it’s “so much better” in Hawaii. It’s the same pineapple lol

Elevator tip… used this many times in NYC… if elevators are repeatedly full when trying to go down, press the up button. It may take a few extra minutes for the trip up before heading down, but you’ll get where you want to go… usually the lobby :)

Pineapples purchased on the mainland are usually from Mexico and not from Hawaii. The Hawaii pineapples get a lot of their flavor from the iron content in the soil

Kyle, please ask the bell staff if their is a nearby grocery store. That resort room was fairly large. You can cook your own meals. Having a paid meal once during the trip sounds cool but everyday it’s wicked expensive. It’s worth the taxi or Uber to shop off property in the local community.

I remember my first trip to Hawaii -- it's really "life changing" when you're there. After our 4th visit, we still felt that Aloha Spirit and visiting Hawaii never get old.
