Frozen's gonna take over Broadway and I don't know how to feel, I don't want all the other musicals to suffer because of it, I am happy that a younger generation is going to be able to see Frozen on stage then also see other musicals advertized in programmes (at least that's how it is in the UK not sure if the US is the same) and be like, "oh! mom! Lets go see this one next!" and be introduced to the wonderful world of musical theatre...yeah, I like that idea...can we make it happen please?? PS. Olaf and Hans are my OTP ^.^

Meghan Robertshaw I think other shows will be fine, atleast for a while. I believe the first batch of tickets already sold out & some re-sellers are trying to do $2000 per ticket (it's wild). So I think it's going to be more of a Hamilton/DEH situation--everyone gets obsessed with it & it gets a lot of hype, but not many people can see it live right when it comes out. Which sucks--BUT atleast it won't pull business from other shows :)

+Paloma Lupino I really, really enjoyed La La Land! I'll definitely cover it somewhere in depth--but super long story short: I think A lot of the people who didn't like didn't really know what it was. When they hear the phrase "movie musical" they automatically think of Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds & It wasn't that kind of movie. Same goes for contemporary musicals, it doesn't sound like Dear Evan Hansen or next to normal or anything like that. I saw La La Land more as a movie that used song and dance as a form of storytelling. That's why I didn't mind that Emma Stone and Ryan gosling weren't the most trained most Broadway perfect singers/ dancers in the world--The point of the musical aspect wasn't to showcase their voices or their dance ability, it was to aid in a different style of storytelling. ok this is way longer than I thought oops lolol 😂💕

Just wanted to add, the meaning behind the 'Hidden Folk' is that it comes from 'Huldufólk', a folklore that comes from the geographical region that Frozen is set in (I think it's around Norway, Iceland, look, Frozen is a fictional place so it's inspired by a lot of stuff! :D) I like this change to be honest, as it's more sensible and realistic than the film's trolls, in my opinion. It did get a stage adaptation but not Broadway. In fact nine years ago I saw the national tour. It co-starred Arielle Jacobs (Adam Jacob's sister) as Gabriella and directed by Jeff Calhoun who directed the Broadway version of Newsies. I may have outgrown from HSM for a long time. But I do like to see the movie that inspired my love of theatre brought to New York. Go Wildcats
