Disney's Riviera Resort Staycation Check In Day! | Detailed 1 Bedroom Villa Tour, Gift Shop & Food!

In today’s vlog we check into the Disney’s Riviera Resort for our staycation! We stayed in a one bedroom villa and we give you a detailed tour of the room. Then we head down to the lobby for some food and to take a look at La Boutique, the hotel gift shop and sundry store. We had a quick dinner from Primo Piatto and some desserts from Le Petit Café. We had a great first night and we can't wait for our park day tomorrow and more resort fun! We hope you had fun hanging out with us at the hotel! This is a deluxe hotel, not a moderate. The 1 br villa with preferred view is usually around $1100 per night, must have gotten a discounted rate.

Hahaha definitely not a moderate resort. It's absolutely a deluxe. I feel like you may be confusing Riviera with the new Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs. That's been described as "deluxe accommodations at a moderate resort."

Actually, this resort is considered a moderate resort. It said if you want the deluxe lifestyle with the moderate pricing that’s where you need to stay. Of course this is a Disney vacation club resort but of course you don’t have to be a member of that in order to stay there. It’s crazy to think that a $500 a night room is considered moderate at Disney but it is. The hotels above that are anywhere from 700 to over $1000 a night. It’s just crazy to think that Disney is charging these prices for hotels. However they are and they are getting it. They will not go down in prices until people stop paying it. You can stay off property in an even nicer hotel or just as nice as this one for a lot less. When you stay on Disney property you’re staying and paying these prices for the luxury of having buses to take you to all the different parks and Disney places. You don’t have to drive and pay for parking. Well, if you actually drive down to Disney and stay at one of the hotels you now have to pay for parking at the hotel. I think that’s absolutely ridiculous especially considering how much you’re paying for rooms down there.

Lol, Funny story when my son was 6 months old. I had put him in his baby seat sitting on the floor. I went about finishing up doing laundry and making the bed. While I was making the bed my son started laughing. I didn't know what he was laughing about. Turns out when my late husband got home from work. He came in our bedroom and I told him about our son laughing. My late husband figured it out. When I went to the other side of the bed to tuck in the sheet. I had hid myself from my son's view and when I stood up he started laughing. The whole time I thought he was laughing at something else. Seeing Jackson laughing when Tim tried to quickly hide and pop back up reminded me of that sweet memory with my son.

@@da60701 a moderate will run you $250 - 350 or so. The cabins at Fort Wilderness, which would be about the size of a one bed villa at a moderate, are at like $350-400 (which is crazy).

Yeah, we looked into it at one night in the 1 bed like this here showed over 1k for a random night in April on Disney’s site.:( I guess you have to go at a good time or use points to get a better price?

I had to laugh that you thought it was a moderate (Disney’s website classifies it as a deluxe villa property), the pricing alone puts it in a deluxe pricing tier along with the amenities! Love it ! We were in a BR two weeks ago for our first stay at Riviera ... we thought the resort was absolutely great. It's definitely deluxe - not a moderate. Friendliest staff I've ever encountered - from the bell hop to the front desk staff to the bartenders at Bar Riva .... just wonderful.

Thank you both so much for being kind and approachable to our family. We were the family of four who talked with y’all a couple of times in the hallway by Le Petit Cafe. On our way home we asked our daughter (Eleanor, 4) what her best moment of the week was and she said “seeing baby Jackson” 😊 Jenn, you asked me about our baby carrier when I was carrying our son (who is only a few months older than Jackson). It is a LilleBaby carrier and it made our days much easier with our son. We were even able to take him on rides while carrying him - he was able to enjoy the rides and my mind was at ease because he was secured by more than a lap bar or seatbelt. Would HIGHLY recommend it for any day in the park with young ones, especially when riding rides. Thanks again! From Me, Brittany (wife and mom), daughter Eleanor, and son Jameson ❤️

Just stayed at Riviera and had the Tower Studio room which doesnt even have a bed. Just a sofa/Murphy bed. Actually smaller than a cruise cabin but had the really nice bathroom and shower. It was still in the $400 range for one night. The full 1 bedroom with living room and kitchen is really nice. This resort is definitely in the Deluxe category and as someone else said earlier, arguably a step up from most of the other DVC properties. We stayed at 5 different DVC resorts in 5 days and this was definately the nicest one and we had the smallest room they have.

Life hack for motion sensors that shut off the AC in the sweltering summer (or just a Florida Tuesday :) LOL): Tie a balloon to a chair near-ish the AC unit so the balloon will move and give the appearance of movement in the room.

DVC rooms cannot be beat. Buying into it was one of my happiest purchases ever. We bought in 1995, our home resort is Old Key West. I somehow missed the announcement of this hotel,... it’s fabulous, and I love how they made the artwork in different styles. The Murphy beds are a no brainer and I’m surprised it took them so long to use them. I do wish they would switch over to saltwater pools. The chlorine keeps us from swimming much because my granddaughter is pretty sensitive to its effects on her skin. She gets incredibly dry skin and a rash from it.
