If they wanted to do a Disney member-berries movie, they should have done something more like House of Mouse or Once Upon a Studio, maybe set in Disneyland, with Mickey and his crew trying to save the park from a coalition of villains or something.

The fact Wish cost $200m,, and may struggle to outgross Trolls 3 overall that cost $100m is not a good look for Disney. In fact, a lot of Universal animated movies (Mario, Minions, Puss n Boots, Sing 2 etc) are out grossing Disney and Pixar movies that cost twice as much.

Animated movies from Universal Pictures knew what their movies are and it's intended target audience which is why they succeed more than Disney and Pixar. Sure they didn't raised the bar any high like Disney used to with their animated movies but they clearly mostly being self aware that the movies knows what it's trying to be without doing anything groundbreaking What made Trolls so successful?? The brand itself, a bunch of cover songs, and Justin Timberlake as part of the songwriter in writing the original songs, so they embrace it even more in the sequels by repeating the same thing about what makes the first one so successful. What makes Despicable Me so successful? The Minions right? So they embrace the minions even more and also gave them a spin off movie. What makes Illumination's Sing so successful? The cover songs and the actors singing it, so they embrace that even more in the sequel

The scene where you see him and Asha where they are singing in the beginning he is singing about protecting all of the wishes meanwhile she sees her grandfather's wish and literally no joke runs through all of the other wishes scattering them knocking them all over and only grabs her grandfather's wish singing about only preserving his wish. It's interesting to see the "hero" act like a villain as usually it's the villain who will smash wishes but it's a sharp contrast to see the villain protecting and caring for every wish and the hero trodding underfoot everyone else's wish to serve her own ends.

I am not gonna change someone's perspective. To be honest, from me. If the movie isn't good or bad. I would not say that to anyone. It's their Choice to watch them or not, and let them get into the conclusion. I watched today with no expectations, and it turned out great. It explains some movies that we had been trough.. since 1923 a.k.a Snow White and so on. The movie has a little bit lack of "so deep moment" like Frozen, Moana, etc. But, it ended up good with clear messages. ☺️ This is my "Subjective yet Objective" opinion.. peace ✌️

Not excited for this one but I hope everyone looking forward to it as well as the kiddos enjoy. Always adorable to see Sean’s kids giving input 👍 It’s been hard for me to get excited for a Disney movie, but I just hope this is another solid one, whenever I get to watching it. Only other animated movie I’m hyped for is Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and The Heron 🔥

However, there’s just some animation picks I know I wanna sit out or do not look forward to very much. This and Trolls and are recent examples.

this movies animation is just kinda subpar though imo. it feels as if Disney really wanted to join the bandwagon of the recent wave of non-hyper realistic and more stylised animation but didn’t give it the time it needed to be fully developed. so instead, it literally looks like we got unfinished renders and poor lighting. since all disney has done for almost 2 decades now is hyper realistic CG animation and they got rid of all their 2D cell animation equipment, all their staff really only have experience with the stuff Disney forces them to make. and now something new has came, they aren’t able to make it under the disney style still as they’re so creatively restricting.

This wish is one of the best Disney song but the movie was just OK. The rest of the song was OK but This wish OMG that song was soooo good. Anyone saying it suck is lying. It is so good and so well sang. I also like the main lead design, just wish it the dress pop more and not in purple. I think navy blue fit her more and would stand out more in the movie. She also should have more then one outfit...... I also wish the villian eye was smaller, make him seem more evil and charming. I love the queen design, she look amazing. Her character was just ok.

I think that "At All Costs" was the best song personally. Apart from some of the music and some decent animation, the story, characters, and script were awful and unoriginal. A.I could've written a better movie XD

I see the big bad's plan almost the same as Disney itself. Take all the wants of others, and give them literally nothing in return. When Disney can't even do their bread and butter, which is FEATURE LENGTH ANIMATED FILMS right anymore, that's a problem

I respect your opinion and review Sean and I understand if you were luke warm to Wish but for me and my family we really enjoyed it To me it made me feel like a kid again and I absolutely loved the soundtrack was it as great as Encanto or Coco or Beauty and the Beast no but for what it was I truly enjoyed it and I hope people will warm up to it 😊 I thought it did a great job of celebrating Disney’s 100 Years ✨🏰✨🥹🥹 My only issue was that before the movie started they were supposed to play Once Upon A Studio beforehand and it didn’t play which I thought was strange but overall I had a great time seeing it with my family and I loved spotting all the easter eggs and references to other Disney Films throughout the movie 🍿 So that’s my opinion and I hope you have a fantastic week with your family God Bless 😊 P.S I Love Your Twilight Shirt 👚 Lol 😂

For me, Wish has been a pleasant surprise! With recent failures like Strange World, Frozen 2 and Encanto, I had very low expectations for Wish. Right from the very moment of the film with the classic storybook opening, I was instantly pulled in and actually cared about these characters, my favorite being Star. I’ve seen it three times already. The last Disney film to have me going back to the theater to see it again was Frozen back in 2013. I’ve always been a huge Disney fan, but have been disappointed in their recent films. Wish brought me back to why I love Disney.

It wasn't bad, expect some very catchy songs and adorable characters (especially the star) but the story was pretty lacking throughout the entire thing which brought it down so much, and theres a lot of references to other Disney films. Considering that its 100th anniversary film I expected more but unfortunately it was "decent" at best instead of being "amazing" or "great".

I saw it earlier today, I loved the songs and especially the star oh my god that thing was adorable, and the references were very cool, but the story is so lacking that it ruined some of it for me and I wish they did a lot more for it considering its the 100th anniversary film but I didn't think it was a bad movie, I give Wish a B- for a letter grade and a 6.5/10.

Looks like young children will love this Wish movie regardless of the critics, and for families of young kids, maybe that is all that counts. However, is the target also for an older audience as well? Sounds like not much new here, an okay time, but lots of scenes reminiscent of other movies.

King Magnífico is the best character of the movie… and they assassinate everything interesting in him midway through the movie into an evil guy who just forces people to kneel down and feel sadness. I’m not kidding the stakes here are lower than the movies ratings right now. AND HES THE BEST PART BY THE WAY. Asha is a forgettable protagonist. All the side characters range from meh to very annoying. The Star is just cute, please don’t hate on the star he didn’t do anything wrong. The songs are actually bad. That shocked me the most knowing Disney has at least nailed some part of that aspect, but somehow they failed that. And overall the movie has no message or theme. It’s a nothing movie to put for kids and not for family. And honestly, to celebrate 100 years of Disney I’m super disappointed

Glad you included the view of 2 kids (Your daughter and her friend) and the movie made sense to them. Probably a sign this movie is more for kids and not so much for the adults. Saying that, as an Adult, I'll be seeing this myself and seeing how it is, but my expectations are lower than they were before. Glad your daughter and her friend found some enjoyment out of it and took a liking to the goat in the movie.

Ok so I can see many like you really are not a fan of what Wish offered. While I can say it probably won't achieve an award, I really did love this film. The songs were great, I did love Asha's victory over the king, and the ending with her Grandpa, I understand what that Wish was meant for. I know I can't change the world's mind, but know there's many like me who really did love this.

I really enjoyed this movie. And i REALLY dont understand why people wont give it a chance. They complain that it "feels ai generated" or the villain song "sucks" But when you watch the movie. It works for the context it's given. Is it one of disneys best? No. But i personally thought it was a solid film

This was a good movie. It had an unusually unique and good message from disney imo. Severely underrated, and as someone who also doesn’t enjoy "woke" entertainment, i still think it is ridiculous that literally everyone is determined to attack anything thry make and overspeculate how it's woke propaganda, when really this film displays a great message about freedom and individual self worth that we should all be celebrating. Not saying that's what Sean does at all and this is definitely an honest review, i just keep seeing that annoying pattern. But still i think this is a misunderstood movie that i hope will eventually be appreciated.
