You'd think that having cartoon characters in an extreme sports game would be a recipe for success. Tony Hawk games really took liberties with how one could skate and defy physics, but with cartoon characters there are so many more possibilities. But almost every cartoony skateboarding game I've seen doesn't take full advantage of it.

I remember Caddicarus talking about this game in his video on bad skateboarding games. He called it "Disney Sports Roadkill" and honestly, that's pretty accurate for this game. I enjoyed the review! I can't wait to see the next one!

It's almost as if the game was designed as a downhill skateboard racing game first (because of the time limit and checkpoints that extend the time make it feel like it's trying to be an arcade racer), but then at the last minute, decided to fill the levels with Pro Skater like objectives, it just doesn't mesh well at all.

This game’s existence feels weird to me. I know Disney was no stranger to trying to adopt 90s attitude, but Mickey Mouse trying to be extreme like this feels very dated. From a company who can be considered timeless at their best. Also, a part of me expected Simpsons Skateboarding to be a part of the lineup when I found out it was gonna be Disney themed. I’m decidedly hyped for tomorrow’s video.

As for the unlockable outfits, that wreaks of "unfinished feature". Perhaps it's a penta penguin situation where they were unfinished and left to a cheat code that they never bothered to put in a cheat book, or they're just not there period and they didn't remove it from the menu/advertising. Feels like lost media almost...

I had this game as a kid! I never knew about the other Disney Sports Game! I would have eaten those up. I remember finding the announcers funny but upon hearing them again, my brain and ears finally connected 😬 When I was 8 this game was fine, although I never understood the level design. I eventually traded this game in for Disney Extreme Skate Adventure and oh boy! I found that one so much better! Thanks for making me feel nostalgic with this amazing video Jak! I look forward to the rest of Hawktober and if you ever cover those other disney sports games in the future! Have a good one!

Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but you can get the alternate costumes. unfortunately you do it by clearing every side mission. Thankfully you get one for doing them in more than one run, but I feel like there's also another costume for doing them all in one go. Not really worth the trouble.

if there is something good i can say about these games is that they have a very clean 2000s asthetic hud, as a desiner id say they make a very good job giving the games show a radical feeling, i really like how the character faces show in a cut out before jumping into the screen, that is a cool introduction.

Those levels looks awfully familiar, the first level is just City Scape from Sonic adventure 2, the pinball machine looks like Casino Park from Sonic Heroes and the amusement park looks like the one in Sonic Adventure 1, even the canyon level with the monorails looks like the one from Sonic Heroes too

Just checked eBay, and the cheapest buy it now price for this game in English is over $30 Canadian…for a loose disk. The cheapest CIB copy is about 10-15 dollars more. Not going to get it, but I thought it would be fun to see if I could afford it with pocket change. Boy, was I ever wrong. The GBA version is about $5 loose. That’s the good news. The bad news is, the cheapest CIB copy of the GBA cart is over $60, which is about the same as most of the Game Cube versions.

I played this as a kid and I never got past the first level. I don't even think I knew about the checkpoints though and just played it like a collectathon. I got the rom for this game and the Extreame Skate game because I didn't remember which one was the one I played. I'll watch both your videos though

Never played the game, but with the GBA port, I can see an idea that they may have had in not including Max With Max not included, all of the characters are non skaters and so you could see it as a game in which they learn to skate. Hence why the tricks are locked behind the button collecting. Just a thought.

I know that your channel is mostly skate boarding games but please if you like combo mashing and correct movement and good mechanics I'd recommend the Mortal kombat franchise recently I revisited it and now that I played it for actual fun and story mode it's super strategic and quick to pick up but hard to master and it's super rewarding if you know how to pull off combos or fatalities
