Your feelings are 100% valid!!!!!! These are the main reasons why I can't bring myself to do a cruise. We do wdw yearly and if it rains there's plenty to do. If a show gets cancelled, there's another somewhere! I love seeing how your family came together and look at the smiles from those girls. They didn't care that the cruise was less than ideal. They had a blast ❤

Feelings are so valid. And even though it was a not fun time it was very educational. So thank you for sharing. This is the biggest reason why we always get a balcony cabin for the fresh air and extra space. In case of being confined. So glad overall yall had a good time and the special time with each one of your girls.

This is the MOST realistic vlog ever! Thank you for sharing this experience! I doubt anyone with kids has NOT gotten this nasty bug that is going around! Sorry about your plans changing, but thank you for sharing this for when it happens to us, we can come back and watch it and remember it happens to the best of us! 100% a cruise do over! Next time cruise around April-May. The weather is beautiful, it's not hurricane season, and it tends to be more affordable since kids are in school. Again, thanks so much for sharing real life! Life with kids is so unpredictable!

Norovirus is a HUGE problem on cruises (gastrointestinal illness that looks identical to food poisoning) and it can spread SO fast so they have to be super careful. So sorry you had to deal with this on your trip!

Ohhh I'm so sorry Ashley, you work so hard and you needed an easy relaxing vacation 💔 i always have arsenicum album in the diaper bag specifically for food poisoning. My first disney cruise that I went on as a kid (before it became disney cruise line) so a long time ago, I also had food poisoning. I dont remember anything but my parents remember their misery 😅 lol also I think Dean had more fun with Bella for dinner lololol I also have to hide food 🤣 my kid wants to eat everything I eat too!! Also just remembered what you said about the 40 yr olds blocking the view...yes thinking they dont have kids because once you have kids you realize there are two types of ppl, one with kids & one without kids. Wish I was there to be like, please come in front of me. Have you considered going to Dollywood?

I think you did a great job at dividing the time in quarantine among parents and big sister still got to enjoy her time even with her sister being sick and changing the plans! ❤ As a parent of multiples, sometimes splitting up is what works!

This sounds like our first cruise- December too. The weather wasn’t great, they canceled castaway cay, and at the end my 18 month old got sick and ended up getting pneumonia and a febrile seizure once we got to our hotel off the boat. Disney called the ambulance and they took her to the hospital. Also it was Christmas so that was a bummer. But Disney did the best they could and treated us great. It was a huge letdown though! I’m so sorry!

I could have made this vlog but for WDW....pink eye and canceled plans x_x. We didn't get to animal kingdom. The rain was absolutely terrible when we went to WDW and it basically squashed our epcot day/daughter got sick/emergency services called....she was so much better the next day but my husband woke up w/pink eye which is contagious. We didn't wanna pass that around and after running through a monsoon the night before I was over it. Now we're dealing with trip insurance to try and get whatever we can back. Not really how I wanted our first family trip to Disney World to go but I guess they aren't always gonna go as planned O_O. AND we did have fun/good times/etc. Thanks for showing that your real feelings. I felt terrible being upset about stuff not going as planned but the feelings are still valid. Disney stuff is expensive and I dunno when we will go back. Sorry your cruise didn't go as planned -- it looks like a very nice ship. Maybe we both just skip disney stuff in November? LOL cuz x_x;

Oh my gosh, that sounds awful!! I'm so sorry your trip didn't go as planned either and dealing with any type of insurance is a headache. Being upset and disappointed is 100% valid! That was very much my feeling by the end of the trip because Disney vacations of any type are not cheap. Lol November just may not be our month girl!

Sorry you had such a crappy first cruise. We're going on our first cruise on the Wish next month. However, I was really taken aback by your vehement displeasure of adults watching the shows that were moved in doors, almost as if you think adults shouldn't watch, and only the kids should. We are a childless couple and paid the same money families did to be there and experience everything. You're entitled to your opinion, of course, but it caught me by surprise as a new viewer of your vlog. I haven't subscribed yet and now I need to think about it. I'm sorry you feel that way.

That's so exciting and I hope you have an amazing time! Definitely no issue with adults watching and enjoying shows. Before I had my kids that was us the “childless Disney adults” everyone hates on. My issue was the fact that there no concession was given to allow children to see. I don't care if someone stands in front of me but I find blocking a child rude. If you want a good view of anything in the grand hall though I would suggest arriving more than 30 minutes early because as we learned it's not early enough.

we took our 3 kids on the big red boat which was the first disney ship in the 1980’s my husband and all the kids got viruses the first day out. my daughter had a fever of 105. the ship required cash for all doctor visits and meds. the kitchen would not bring us food and there was no room service. i had to go to the kitchen to get food for them. there was no guest services. we didn’t cruise again until this year.

So sorry you had to go through that! Our first trip to Disney, we all got COVID-19. We voluntarily isolated, it was really disappointing. Thankfully, a cast member extended our unused park tickets to use in the future. Still, it was an expensive vacation to loose. I feel your pain!

I hope this didn't ruin DCL for you. All of the disapointing things weather, wind, cancled ports, and illness can absolutly happen on a cruise or any vacation, but they don't usually all happen on the same trip. What a bummer! I would have been heartbroken as well. I hope you will give it another shot. Bahamian weather can be tricky between hurricanes, rainy season, and windy season but it is also a beautiful region.

We were in the same sailing. So sorry for your situation with the kids getting sick plus the awful weather. We have been on 22 prior DCL sailings and this is the first time missing Castaway Cay for us :-( I hope you choose to give cruising another chance and sail on another Disney cruise. I would suggest you pick the late spring (April/May) which statistically has much better weather. We did talk to many CMs at WDW when we returned and heard it rained terribly there as well while we were on the cruise. Take care and hope your future Disney trips are magical.

My daughter (then my husband and I) got Covid on her first trip as a baby and I was so sad. Had watched your videos to prep as first time parents. Completely understand the disappointment! You won’t get a first cruise again, but you’ll have a do over one day and it will be even more magical!

Sooo disappointing getting sick on vacation! On my kids first trip to Disney World we all go a stomach bug in the middle of our trip and lost 3 whole days of our vacation! So sad!

So sorry this happened to you on your first Disney Cruise. We were actually on the same cruise as you. We’re sitting behind you to the left (32:52) at the Arendelle restaurant. The weather was not good on that cruise and we did end up getting COVID when we arrived home. But all in all we had a good time and the staff was great.

Oh I totally get how you feel! We sailed last year in Aus (we are aussies) and we had a similar situation with our son getting sick and then our roof leaked and flooded our room and we had to move rooms in the middle of the night. It was devastating! After a big build up and excitement to our yearly trip it was so hard when it didn't go to plan 😢

I felt your pain. We had a Disney trip with two er visits and a paramedics visit at Wilderness Lodge. The emt said, “Yeah, that’s why we call it the Tragic Kingdom.” Both girls had completely separate illnesses. I packed our car at 4am, put a depends on my 12 yo, at the time, and we hit the road. When you travel a lot, it’s bound to happen.

My eldest daughter chopped the top of her finger off whilst at Disney when she was little. They were amazing with her and she got a free Minnie Princess from a cast member. I know what you mean about vacation plans changing and not going how you planned but that is another joy of motherhood.

Hi Ashley! We have gone on two Disney cruises, one on the magic and one very merry time on the fantasy! We were lucky and had successful castaway days on both and we love Disney cruise line so much! Glad to see they made your day magical even when it was a struggle! The lay out of the wish doesn’t excite me as much as the older ships, I would recommend trying one of those ships some time too! We just got back from our first cruise on the Wish and had a very similar experience. It was 80 degrees every day in the Bahamas for two weeks UNTIL the day we got on that boat and the temps dropped 10 degrees and the wind picked up. We did get to go to castaway cay but it was miserable and cold. Then on our 3rd night I started feeling achy and started running a fever. I spent that night and the entire next day in the bed, feverish and 99% sure I had the flu. I missed 1923, both shows, the at sea day, and basically half of my cruise. Within 48 hours of getting off the boat my 11 y/o started vomiting. I loved what time I spent on the boat, but I will never do a winter cruise in the middle of cold/covid/flu/GI bug season again.

I never Disney cruised, but I can relate to all your feelings 100%! Back in may this year my two year old son got sick while at Disney world. Stomach bug on day two of our trip! It was a 5 day, yes 5 day stomach bug. Throwing up even in the middle of the night. I did laundry many many times! I first thought it was something he ate but it was reoccurring. Like Bella out of the blue, fine though-out the day then just random puke! I stayed in the room for almost three days with him while my husbands took my daughter to all the things we had planned. It sucked! So I can’t totally understand why you had all those feelings! Nothing is my medicine bag could of prepared me for that. I agree just need a do over vacation Cruise. I’m still waiting to book my do over wdw trip from may as well!

Just fyi in the future you can have the restaurants bring dinner to your room. We had a sick kiddo one time too and were bummed about missing dinner and then a cast member said the restaurant can bring food to us! We ate dinner and watched the show on the tv.

Sorry the cruise wasn’t as expected. As for the party’s on deck, in my experience kids usually went more down to deck 3 while adults on decks above

Thankfully the first few days were great. We tried deck 3 on multiple occasions and were 20 or so minutes early and it was packed too. Will definitely arrive 30+ minutes early if we do it again.
