I like the fast pass better, it was more RELAXING and you can enjoy the parks more, now everyone is looking into their iPhones rushing to rides throughout the park and never really getting to take in the park itself. Genie plus and LL is too confusing and definitely not easier than fast pass. Remember you are on vacation to enjoy Disney not to rush around from ride to ride, people have got it all wrong.

Thank you very much for this helpful video;, however, as I listened to all the crap that I have to do just to get on those few rides I want, on top of the increased ticket costs including paying for Genie plus and ILL, it became clear to me that I no longer want to spend my time or money at Disney World. I am going to enjoy my time in Orlando, visiting other parks or nearby attractions with my family this year, rather than spending valuable time and hard earned money with no guarantee, even to get on my favorite rides, on top of everything else that has gone on down there. I'm also extremely frustrated by all of it too! I want so badly for them to go back to the Fastpass Plus system that they had before Covid. (Where you could book three rides for each day AHEAD of your trip, for free.) That way you arrived to your vacation knowing you already had three rides per day selected at a time that works for your schedule. Because getting up early on vacation is torture for us.

Arriving late to the park ride stacking is a great tip. I knew you could do that but man to have you lay it out there was a helpful hint for me to use because we generally rope drop but man some days that just doesn’t happen. So this is a great strategy to use for those days.

Would you happen to know the answer to this question - I did not purchase Disney park tickets at the same time that I purchased my Disney resort reservation. How can I get them connected as if I bought them all part of one reservation package in the app? My biggest fear is logging on at 7 am to buy an ILL and the app treating me like an offsite visitor and not allowing me until 9 am! Glad to be of help! As to your question: Before you get to Disney, make sure you have everything connected in your MyDisneyExperience app. That's where you link EVERYTHING. You put in your confirmation for your hotel. You put in the numbers for your tickets. Everything will then show up on your app. I honestly do everything at home on my laptop, but use the mobile app while I'm actually AT Disney. If you enter everything in to your My Disney Experience account, it will all be there when you're ready to use it on-site. Do note that Genie+ prices have increased since I made this video. (Of COURSE they have... sigh...) From what I understand, they're using dynamic pricing, so the pricing change every day, based on how crowded it is. I'll be headed there in just over a week and will be able to report from some more first hand experience soon!

Yes, I would recommend getting there before the park opens so you can be some of the first inside - then go straight to the standby line. Of course, this only works if you are staying on-site.

I'd say definitely take advantage of ILLs. Remember - rides that are ILLs are not on Genie+. I'm so torn on Genie+ to be honest. When I last did it, it took awhile for me to get rides at times that I wanted. Even though you're off-site, you might still be able to make it work with Genie+. I feel it's worth it at DHS. Just went to Disneyland and it was the last time I’ll go. It’s now a battle of haves v have nots. You already spend a fortune to enter the park but now you have to spend an additional fortune to have access to the rides. It was an extra $30 EACH for 3 of us to get genie plus! And if we didn’t want to stand in line for 90 mins to ride Rise of Resistance, it was another $30 each for the lightning pass. I could’ve paid the extra but We chose to stand in line. What an absolute scam. I feel sorry for those who can’t afford to pay the extra. The only magic at Disneyland is the disappearing cash. It’s an absolute scam

I just wanna say, this is by far the worst move Disney has ever made in the whole company. There was nothing whatsoever wrong with the old system. The sooner Bob Cheapskate Chapek goes, the better. There are petitions out there calling to have him fired and Fastpasses brought back. They surely have to at least alter this new system in the next couple of years or so, so it will be made easier for guests, because from what I've seen, the majority of them are sure as hell not happy with this.

It depends on when you go, and what you want to do. Of course, stand-by lines are available for almost all the rides, but you'll need to add in a lot of extra time to allow for that. Think of it as Disney "old school" style. (When I was a kid in the 80's, it was normal to wait 1-3 hours for all the rides.) And I personally don't use it in all the parks. I have found it most helpful at DHS and MK, but haven't used G+ in DAK - I haven't needed it there. We also really don't need it at Epcot. (We don't do a lot of the rides in Epcot; and the one we really wanted - Guardians of the Galaxy - is not part of Genie+ at this exact time. We purchased ILL for Guardians AND joined the free virtual queue at the 1pm time option. We'll be doing the same again on our last Epcot day of this trip. (The ride is amazing!)

That's not correct. "Individual Lightning Lane" just means that the ride is not included in Genie+. You can absolutely sit together and get your spots together.

​@@JenTheSingingTraveler So, after experiencing this first-hand, I have to say that I enjoyed the Genie+ LLs - During peak times, if you don't park-hop, you could definitely get on all the rides you want to, especially if you book the high-interest ones first, and save the less desirable ones for afterward. Therefore, I think you get more rides than the old Fast Pass. (If you park-hop, you'll miss the high-interest rides in the 2nd park, as they will most likely be completely booked up.) It really was easy to learn, and not very stressful. Having said that, I ABSOLUTELY HATED the ILLs. I just realized the acronym applies perfectly! I felt ILL!!! It was my husband's 50th birthday trip, and he had his heart set on two rides - Rise of the Resistance and Flight of Passage (of course!). The STRESS involved in researching in the weeks leading up to the trip, strategy planning in the days leading up to the trip, getting anxiety the night before, waking up on time and getting loaded into the app ready to trigger click at 7AM, was HORRIBLE. I cannot stress this enough. It is an unfair system for those who have $$$ - we'll be paying this off for awhile - and are tech-savvy, combined with some good luck. For whatever reason, when booking Rise, the app did not include me in the party, so I had to go back and edit myself in. By the time I got to the payment page (within maybe 30 seconds?) the first 3 hours had disappeared. I choose a 10:30AM - while processing the payment, it kicked me back out (it's a "live" system they say, so all the slots were filled by other people whose phones must have processed milliseconds faster). I was finally able to get a 1:20PM, hallelujah! But by the time I was done, my heart was pounding (dangerously?!) and I had to do breathing techniques to bring myself down. (Similar experience with Flight of Passage, but I already knew what to expect, so that helped just a little.) It was so awful, I felt so very angry at Disney. It really did take the magic out of my trip, and I could hear other people around me (even at other places like Discovery Cove) complaining. Everyone was saying what we were saying - We will NOT be going back anytime soon!!!

@@lauraba216 Yes - I hated the 7am anxiety of trying to snag the ILLs! So much stress. I still miss the old fastpass SO MUCH! I liked booking three afternoon rides BEFORE I even got to DIsney so I didn't have to wake up early on vacation!

Actually, they recently switched to surge pricing. Some days, it's still $15, some days it's $20, and at PEAK holiday times, there were a few days where it was $25. (Although that is not the new norm.) I'm literally in Disney right now, and I had a day where my Genie+ was $15, and another day where it was $20. Also on this trip, I paid $15 p/p for an ILL, and I also had a day where I paid $17 for an ILL. Every day is a little bit different.

been 3 times, staying on site, and got onto ap for ILL PRECISELY at 7:00 - ROR not procured YET!!!!! WHATCA FARCE! 3 TIMES! Give me a break Disney! How goofy! ROR is costing me THOUSANDS at this point. I would think they would give preference to multi visit peeps .but...nope. goofy!

Damn ! We're Supposed to ENJOY THE DAY right ? This is too much work . I Love Disney but they've gotten to Greedy . The FastPass system allowed was much easier and allowed guests to enjoy their day . Imagine parents with children of assorted ages trying navigate the day . I think I'd rather go to a different vacation spot. Shame on you Disney

Pedaphile is what Disney is all about. Put adult themes of sexual ideas and putting kids in situations where they no longer hide their ways. They used to hide and protect it but now they become "woke" and use their CEO to come out and push their own kids to be "it" rather than boy or girl! I had family members who used to work at Disney and what they saw was enough to say "see yah"! It was always let's work at "Disney" until they start working there and behind the scenes. Pushing trans and pedaphile behavior is worth boycotting. We have a choice. So I decided to take a stand as many people have. Leave kids alone! Especially young innocent children. I can't help that you don't understand what that means or implies. "Woke" is term where evil is no longer being hidden but in your face. If you believe it then you are "woke"!
