TVD had Caroline and TO had Rebekah making Lizzie a Vampire just keeps that theme running.

Aside from this scene, I think it's the other way around. Lizzie is more comparable to stefan because of her mental health issues, while josie has a tendency to hurt her sister

Worse, she doesn't seem to feel any remorse for this. She instead relies on lizzie giving her a pass every time

@@TheMarkmcr Because that’s what siblings do. The fact that Lizzie hasn’t abandoned Josie proves that Lizzie takes no mental health damage from that. In fact, it just shows that she gets stronger everytime. I remember the very first episode when Lizzie and Josie fought which caused Lizzie to have a total breakdown and break all the dishes in the kitchen. Now, Lizzie is ready to do what it takes to bring Hope down to her knees without having anyone get in her way. She almost sacrificed a man to get her dad back, and she didn’t let anybody stop her.

This has made me think that how the merge is avoided is either: 1. Josie decides to turn because she knows Lizzie doesn't want to become a vampire. Lizzie, not wanting Josie to sacrifice that much for her, turns instead. 2. Josie becomes a heretic and turns Lizzie. Like the question isn't "Is Lizzie going to be a heretic" at this point. It's more "Is Josie going to be there with her"

I think its foreshadowing in the ending when they meet in the box. Freya is Esther’s daughter so her magic resides in freya’s blood so the same would apply to hope since Esther is the reason hope was born a witch. So Esther, freya, or hopes blood would be necessary for a random witch to create or reverse a original vampire So like Josie could use hope’s blood plus a red oak stake and create a new original vampire. Hope’s tribrid blood has lots of magic like doppelgänger blood which is the power source of the spell
