Disneyland opened July 17 1955 and over the past 60 years some Disneyland's old rides don't exist anymore they are called Extinct Disneyland Attractions!
I started videotaping inside Disneyland in 1990 and I was abel to to tape some of those old rides before they became Extinct!
The first ride we go on is the PEOPLEMOVER - THRU THE WORLD OF TRON in 1990, this was one of my favorite rides to go on!
Normally the Rocket Jets at the time sat on above the Peoplemover ride itself but when I taped the Peoplemover in 1990 the Rocket Jets were not there, they must have been refurbished because they did bring them back!
So then I show the Rocket Jets ride I taped in 1993 which is above the Peoplemover ride once again!
My friend and I rode the Rocket Jets ride and I taped us on and off the ride The Rocket Jets ride closed in 1997 and became another Exitinct Disneyland attraction, I then videotaped the Rocket Rods ride that replaced the Peoplemover ride same track new ride system, I thought this was a very fun ride but it only lasted a couple of years due to problems to the ride it became Extinct in 1998 but the Rocket Rod - Peoplemover track is still standing in Tomorrowland!
I also videotaped The Skyway to Tomorrowland, the flying buckets that flew above Tomorrowland and Fantasyland in 1990 and I taped the Skyway to Fantasyland at night New Years 1992 this fantastic ride but became Extinct in 1994!
I then show a small video clip of the skyway taken down in 1995!
In 1990 we go on the Submarine Voyage ride and it also became Extinct in 1998 and latter reopened as Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage!
Happy Disneyland memories!

Growing up in the 80's Disneyland was a ginormous magical place. It looks exactly the way it did back then. Now as an adult the actual size and scope of the park is more in perspective. As exciting as Disneyland still is, I can't help but reminisce of the way it used to be, through the eyes of a child growing up.

As +Andre Wallace said, it's very nostalgic looking back as a kid on my time in Disneyland...I don't remember too much, really, which stinks, but I remember I'd go on Star Tours countless times in the middle of November with no lines...I do hope that when I'm a parent I can give my child some of the same memories...different ones, different places, but perhaps I can make room to visit at least some of the many Disneylands with my child(ren) and give them some memories there like I have :)

The People Mover was the only ride in the park that never had lines, allowed you to relax for a while in the shade and gave you a bird's eye view on where to go next. Of course they got rid of it!

I’ve been told the skyway closed due to CA classification as a ski lift but I doubt that. My guess is safety and maintenance. It was a blast to ride at 3am during the Star Tours 72 hr grand opening event. Lasers and lights everywhere. Beautiful.

Such a great video!! Thank you for posting. This brings back so many memories. For those of you too young to remember, Tomorrowland truly was better back in the 80's and early 90's!! Some of us older folks aren't just reminiscing, but we long for the former Tomorrowland that was more futuristic than the junk we have now. There was kinetic motion everywhere! The people mover cars were so awesome gliding all over tomorrowland. The rocket jets were high up where they truly belonged and the skyway offered an amazing view of the park from above. I miss all of that so much!! Everything was just so much better. I will give you this.... I personally think finding Nemo Submarine Voyage is better than the original version. The subs are now brighter, the scenery and effects are state of the art, there's less pollution with then electric motors, and the water just seems cleaner. That's really the only plus of the current tomorrowland.

@@Audioandlyrics eh i think he is remembering wrong because early magic morning didn't start until 2016. The park was empty because it was morning and disney was struggling the late 80s and 90s. It was the beginning of the disney renaissance though. I remember disney in the 90s and it didnt start getting back until the fastpass was implemented. This caused the park from being a 1 day park to being a 3 day vacation. This is because disney artificially holds back the standby lines and make then go 10 to 20% of the time while the fast pass goes 80-90.

Great video, I would have to say that the last time I visited Disneyland was probably back in 1993 when Micky's Toontown was there and I must have been a least 12 or 13 at the time. Watching this video brought back a lot of good memories, I would say my all time favorite ride was Pirates of the Caribbean before it got PC, also great footage of the Matterhorn I was lucky to ride that once because every time me and my family visited Disneyland the Matterhorn was always shut down for maintenance.

We use to go every summer back when adults entered for the price of kids, it was like $24 per ticket. The last time I went was 1999 I was 12 years old pretty much the end of my childhood. So much has changed, especially Disneyland and their price$$$ of course, but wonderful memories

Tomorrowland is a jumbled mess of post 1990 bad ideas that never came together. Disney should just restore the rest of Tomorrowland to how it looked in 1968 so it matches Space Mountain again. Keep the rides but ditch the awful Steampunk and UFO themes.

Thanks for the wonderful footage. I have never been there. The people mover had more things that I would of imagined. It's a thumbs up for me.

The late 70's, early 80's Disneyland was the best!! They messed it up with todays Tomorrowland and Fantasyland and by the looks of it, it gets overcrowded everyday now regardless if its holiday, weekend or during any normal week!! Thank you for posting this video! Cheers!👍🏻

MrDisneyfanman I'm so glad you have footage of all these old and former attractions. Every time I'm at Disneyland, I can't help but notice the old abandoned Fantasyland station where the Skyway once was. Although obscured by the overgrowth of trees, I still get a glimpse of it as I pass by -- even so with the Tomorrowland Station, which is now part of the Autopia souvenir kiosk. Great memories!

Very nice job w/ shooting especially considering that even in 1990, "video capturing devices" and technology still had a long way to come as far as size and features. I know I'm stating the obvious; the point of my comment is to compliment the lovely camera work ;-)

For your information, the Rocket Rods first had a pre-closure on September 25, 2000 and was declared officially closed on April 28, 2001

Thank you Sooo much for putting this up! I hadn't been to Disney since the 90's and I was born in 1990. Lol! So there isn't much I remember well. But watching this video just flooded my brain with memories! What an awesome piece of nostalgia. I really can appreciate it even more now that I'm older... I also just got my annual pass, so it's gonna be awesome to see how it's all changed. Thanks again!

When you got tired of the lines and walking you could relax and ride the Peoplemover or the Skyway to Tomorrowland. You could still enjoy the park and the people. At night it was beautiful, and from about you could see which ride had the shortest lines. I also thought the Rocket Rods were fun. Thanks for the memories.

DN opened the year before i was born. The 60s was it's heyday!! The thrills and charm are sadly gone. glad it's my happiest childhood memories!! Once Walt died, it lost the magic. He wouldn't have let them go over the top like they have.
