Maybe as children we could enjoy the movies with such depth that we could truly “taste” it. And in my particular circumstance I would take so much time after the movie to think about it, let it sink in. I was lucky to have a calm childhood. And I feel like everything was just good. I could enjoy the wonders of the world. I would open the window and smell the fresh morning air. It would be the best thing ever. But now it’s different. Now I’m numbed by experiences I had. It’s not the same anymore. I enjoy it but not through such depth.

The first film I ever saw in theaters 16 years ago in 2007. Unforgettable memory. I love this film more than words could possibly describe. A divine taste so sweet and delicate. A rarity in the modern arts of cinematic animation. I would recommend it five stars, but doing so would only do it a disservice in my eyes. It’s the absolute pinnacle of filmmaking and what every great artist should aspire towards creating. Nearly 17 years later, I will always keep coming back to this film hungry for more❤️

As a French, I adore this film, very very well made, the small details, the French accent, famous French cars, the baguettes :), everything is just so well made, like a delightful magret de canard, beside, first Linguini’s appartement is a very good point, Paris isn’t all luxury (the view on the Eiffel Tower is kinda cliché ;)), it’s so nice to have such a masterpiece with my sweet homeland in it 🙂 Bravo Pixar, c’est du travail de génie 👏

I’m going to France in a few weeks! I grew up as a really really poor Mexican American kid in the Central Valley in California. We struggled to survive, my parents raised five kids on one income, which was barely at or barely above minimum wage. I know what it’s like to be on welfare, have my parents car repossessed, lights/water turned off for days, stand in hour long lines for a free box of food, taped up shoes to cover holes, spray painted good, and to receive food stamps and much more. Despite this I went to college, and I am now an educator. I am not rich, but my income has allowed me to travel the world. I’ve been to Greece, England, Mexico, Canada, and soon France! I know this song is about growing up poor/in the struggle so it really resonates with me. I get emotional when I think about it and my upcoming trip to France because I can heavily relate to the music. I never thought I would have the chance to travel out of my state let alone the country! I am very blessed and humbled.

I can watch this movie and listen to this song on loop forever! I never tire of it. So beautiful. Someone made a comment here that it inspires them to live in a beautiful big window department overlooking the city of lights and making a meal for yourself and drinking a glass of French wine on the balcony overlooking the city. I actually had that experience about 10 years ago. I stayed in a beautiful little boutique hotel with a tiny balcony in and I had a partial view of the Eiffel Tower a few blocks away. My dinner that night was a French baguette with some lovely cheese and a Bordeaux wine that I purchased across the street for five euro. A simple yet memorable experience that I would give anything to go back and experience again.
