Halo Season 2 reviews near as the series draws close, and an old comment from Pablo showcased a very common attitude in Hollywood. Whether it be directors, writers or actors all of them think they are more important than the source material. Everything they make rather than focus on what the original author intended, with their values, are replaced by the values of the new show creators. Hidden behind a wall of language about how Important it is X is put into the series, it always hides self interest and their own personal taste. It's never done for the audience, always for the creators. You can know all about the writers just by watching what people in the show say, because they often ARE the writers. Ego drives them, self centered, self interested and likely unable to put themselves in another persons shoes. It's the only perspective they can write from, and all they care about. And until Hollywood can change the people involved, I don't see how this can change. The creators need humility to handle other peoples IP's, and we rarely see that from Hollywood actors or creators. But what do you think? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

I don't normally speak directly to creators but you are an inspiration to many of us, I just hope you're doing okay with the news that She-Hulk might not get renewed for season 2. I thought of you and was thinking we should set up a kickstarter or gofundme so that we can make season 2 happen. Also Velma season 2. Watching you guys utterly destroy these shows was more entertaining than the shows themselves will ever be. Echo getting a few more seasons would be icing on the cake, maybe they can destroy Luke Cage or Iron Fist or some other characters. Go all in on the cringe.

If "She-Hulk" had any more self-insertions, the whole series would have consisted of nothing but a still image, shown onscreen for the duration of each and every episode, of a worn and stained double-pronged dildo. 🤷‍♂️

100% correct. These modern day writers only care about validating their viewpoints and pushing their beliefs, and to hell with the rest of us. The problem is the Twitter mob is always encouraging this, so as long as the dumbasses on social media continue to feed their egos, they have no reason to stop.

So, it's impossible to express emotion to the audience, if they can't see your face? Every voice actor for a cartoon, every prosthetics actor that went through hours of getting their face completely covered, not to mention all of the actors that have worn masks must be in absolute shock to learn that they weren't able to emote to their audience.

That’s actually a core theme of many of Tolkien’s villains. Melkor/Morgoth, Feanor, and Sauron all started as highly creative beings, but as evil consumed them, they lost most of their creative ability, which also seems to be the case with much of modern day Hollywood. There are many formerly creative “old timers” who now are so consumed by conforming to DEI and virtue signaling that they no longer can create anything decent (and of course there are the newbies who never were any good to begin with).

The whole point of characters having the helmet on and lack voice lines is so the player can project into that canvas. MC is the main protagonist, everything revolves around him in a deep way. But what MC believes is that he is an additional soldier just doing his job, as they are bigger things at stake. This is what Hollywood can't understand. By removing the helmet you are undercutting all the war machinery he is in, and the idea that anyone can be behind that helmet. It's weird that they removed it, even in the fanloved animation Red Vs Blue spartans mostly use helmets and in the fanloved games Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo 3, we never see MC face

The Halo situation is stupid. - They already established a way to see the face IN THE HELMET if you are that desperate. Marvel did it with Iron Man when RDA was in the suit. - Films and TV series have been able to have actors emote while wearing full prosthetics, makeup and straight up face masks for decades. Mandalorian is actually a good example of this ironically but then even THAT decided to take the helmet off. - The added hilarity is how badly Halo S1 abused the helmet situation. MC takes off his helmet in situations where he should keep the damn thing on but puts it on when it is not needed. - Watching the Pink Hair Spartan get straight up face planted with no helmet by the OTHER Spartans actually wearing their helmets was pure comedic irony which I think is too complex for the hacks writing this garbage to grasp.

What that writer doesn’t understand is that there are iconic helmets that have more meaning than some random actor’s facial expressions. Boba Fett was instantly famous back in the day. Master Chief and Judge Dread characters are the mask/helmet. Taking it off dilutes the meaning. The Mandalorian embodied that perfectly. Seeing a face would make it a completely different thing that would’ve never been as popular.

Ego is essential in creative entertainment - it's how you sell the product, when people ask what's in it for them, you gotta gush. Belief that your product is hot shit that people will want. The only rule is you must gush about the work itself, the product people will be experiencing with their eyes and/or ears. If you're gushing about yourself, no matter your position in the production - or what inspired the work (ideology, personal history, taste)... you've completely forgotten what it is your selling, and the product becomes just a vanity project, a vessel for your backstory that means nothing to anyone other than you. Consumed by ego.

Yes, that's how it was in the comics, she could communicate pretty normally because she could read lips as well as mimic speech. Plus, she also learned to play instruments by watching others- which was the reason Kingpin realized she was something special, not just a deaf girl that needed special treatment. So I've been confused on exactly how all that is "lame", lol, and I've wondered exactly how much of the comics the director read to form that opinion.

My daughter's name is Halo (she was released before the game). Some of our best memories together are playing Halo together when she was 9 to 11 years old. And I saved for months to buy an Xbox simply because of the Halo game. All that being said, I was already so jaded by Hollywood by the time that the series came out, I refused to get a Paramount account to watch it. The more I heard and saw about the series, the more I knew that was the right decision. It is sad, because the game means so much to me, and holds such a huge place in my heart and past, yet it is the only way I could keep those memories good.

I love how easy some things are to fix. In Halo, fans would've accepted having Master Chief having his helmet on with us having to see the internal helmet shots to show Pablo's face. But he wouldn't have that. In Echo, they needed to commit to either having this all deaf, or not. Or have her actually kick ass without the leg (which there are many scenes they could've done)......or not. I love that she needs the prosthetic to do anything. All AFTER removing some of her comic abilities! What a shame.

Imo it wouldn’t have been difficult to show her mastering situations despite the missing leg. It’s imo the fact that the fight scenes try to act as if she was a huge dude with two normal legs that ruin the action. Being deaf and missing a leg, they would have had to show her to be cunning and able to adapt fast, not to be a full frontal assault fight as if she was Captain America. But I guess „the message“ was more important than to show actual strong women.

So if we have to see a face to understand a character... why can we all understand and connect with say the muppets? Most of them don't have complex facial expressions yet I can understand Kermit just sitting on a shelf far more then any current day actor. What about anime, cartoon or CG characters? A lot of them don't even have faces to emote with. Yet you'll understand most of their emotions mostly from expressive voice acting. So Mr John Halo sit down, put the helmet on and use that little something called body and voice acting.
