One thing I cant understand most collectors do, these are action figures right? Especially Transformers which have multiple modes, accesories, faces even. So why put your display in a way it won't ever move again? Like Sideswipe goes here in that pose, good, never touching him again. I feel the beauty of displaying action figures instead of statues is the fact that you can change everything, from the pose to the mode to the characters etc, yet I only see a bunch of robots standing together or a bunch of vehicules parked together. Never any action based Display, like a Megatron in a landing position pointing his cannon to a Prime in truck mode rolling at him with diorama effects to help it look like it's moving in high speed, and why not some seekers in Jet mode in the sky and some Autobots preparing for battle etc etc...? Changing your display by switching modes and poses also helps not getting tired at the collection itself as you can make it change. I mean why pay extra money on a figure ingeneered to transform if it's only to transform it once, say ''nice", transform it back to bot mode, put it on a shelf and never touching it again? I LOVE your StarWars display of the bar you've got for that exact reason, each character is doing something in a cool asf diorama and looks like it's a living place with living people (and I don't care for StarWars) and I love your Dioramas in general but you always display your Transformers like they are getting a photoshooting. I just find it to be kind of a waste. (Note : I mean no offence to anyone)

Thanks for posting. The moducase guy with the school photo display just wanted a little break from all the lockdown stuff and winds up as the negative example. He’s got a lot of time to sort his collection out at least, he’s going to need about 3 more of that 3 case stack to accommodate all the figs he bought, not sure how long the new moducases will take to arrive. Good thing you showed Robert’s pile of figures to make him feel better. It looks like someone threw a tennis ball at his display

Definitely a good time for a laugh. I would say that the biggest hurdle most collectors have is overcrowding. Just because you have the space doesn't mean you should cram every single thing into that space. Giving everything some room to breathe and have a bit more dynamism in its posing definitely lends it self towards having a display that a visiting normie can appreciate the appeal in vs the crowded "watching a concert" shelves that make ya look like a hoarder dork. It's definitely something I regularly struggle with back and forth too.

There are some guides for posing gunpla (eg Mecha Gaikotsu) which can be applicable for Transformers. The standard "A" stance has the very stylized Obari dynamic hip thrust that is often mocked in Transformers fandom. Unfortunately Transformers in general lack a standardized port placement specifically for stands, and most figures are too big and heavy for flying/dashing poses that is more common in Gundam (those stands that can are usually as expensive as the figures themselves, eg Macross flight stands). I also find it strange that the hinge joint fingers are now considered standardized as 'articulated'... which usually just allows for a finger point or a Bruce Lee "come at me" challenge, when splayed fingers would have been so much more expressive. The other problem is of course... is the sheer amount of TF figures one might have. So one might end up with the "concert" display, which will later then turned to the "half turn all standing sideways to maximize space" display lol

At 2:10 That is, currently, an illegal gathering of more than 10 figures, lol. See, the Autobots on the oil rig and in front of the fantastic Ark diorama, are leading by example of 10 or less. By extension, the Decepticon seemed to be abiding by that, but Soundwave is not practicing proper "social distancing" so that very... deceptive. ROFL! On a serious note, really great discussion. Unfortunately, some displays are restricted by space so what do you see for Iron Man? A Hall of Armor in A to H stances may be your only choice if you have too many. Otherwise, they are all over the place. Also, try posing your MP Starscream with his arms crossed, and tilt his head, and that'll completely change the tone of the character next to Megatron. Now Robert inadvertently brings up a point that wasn't covered. He has created shelves for Fans Toys and Iron Factory, so he's categorized his shelves by brand and likely created a confusing display, like the Starscream on the floor in front of Dragon Predacon Megatron. Jisk's Cyclonus display looks like a mid-reformatting display with the led neon glare. Or 'Cyc is at the club with 'er body. =P I love that the box is Slag's house, lol. Robert D just forgot to mention that Majin Boo is pulling off a Pokemon Snorlax post or that the left side of his shelf got Thanos snapp'd. LMAO! According to Jisk I have the Robert Dee/Goat display, lol. Dude, that was hysetrical! On second though, I also have 8-Cube Asymettrical shelving but without individal shelf lighting (yet), and pushpins putt into the wall that MOC figures hang onto. Is that a partial Renaissance Man. Great episode! I'm glad it wasn't cut. Keep up the great work, you dummies. =P

My solution to having more figures than shelves is I keep most of them stored bagged in Rubbermaid tubs in the basement. I rotate them out 4-5 times a year in tasteful displays. Learned a lot about good displays from Bobby's videos and try to use the ideas to make them pop

Omg! Your setup is absolutely gorgeous. I’m looking to do something almost EXACTLY like what you have done at 00:23 with the 3 display boxes with literally ALL Season 1 G1 figures (minus Skyfire, which wouldn’t fit, I’m sure. So it’s understandable) I am so impressed. You are very creative and artistic. I am thinking of setting up a single display dividing into outside the Ark like you have, then on the other side, going inside to fit the rest of the Autobots with Telstran-1 as the background. I’m so excited to get started on it. (I just started collecting this last Christmas, as I didn’t realize that accurate Transformers were actually being made. It blew my mind. So anyway, thank you, as you’ve been a tremendous value to watch your videos, and a wonderful and hilarious entertaining person to get Transformers information from. I love you and your family man, no homo (not that there is anything wrong with that) Till All Are One!!!

I never pile my figures up in one case, i feel it takes away from the figure, now if it's a team that's different, i will display them in 4's side by side, i hate when a figure is standing behind another, unless it's somebody like the hulk, i also like dioramas with some to bring out the background.

It was silly, but funny and still had a serious point. My mp's remain constrained by space for now, so barring a few they are fairly static. I've got one shelf of mcu shf tho and despite being busy they are all posed, some on flight stands, some crouching, i have hawkeye back to back with ronin. because of that its a shelf with life and far more effective. makes me happy so i win.

Funny video! Any way you can put out a video about which stands work with poses and MP figures? Is the Tamashii the standard, or is there something else out there that works? Surprised no one mentioned brick collections, shelves with 3 or 4 rows of bots on g1 stances, not even spreading a bit for A stances, just straight feet with arms down to the sides, seen them with figures ofevery line and size, from legends to mps, just rows full of them.

HEY hey fellow geeks. While you were making fun of people's simple posing, you forgot one very IMPORTANT thing that I wish you would have addressed. Maybe you can make a video about it? You forgot about "FOPPING" (Fear Of Posing) fopping is real! I have it. I'm a noob. I only have 3 Masterpiece Transformers and 5 Star Wars Black Series figures and I am SCARED AS HELL to pose them creatively for fear of breaking them!!! So how about acknowledging fopping and making a video about how to safely pose them without breaking them and getting over that fear?
