Nice little show, you can really see all the machines in a smaller show, there is still many neat old tractors and machines to enjoy, nice catch on the tire, what would you do without Jolene, thanks for showing us.

I had a buz saw on a John Deere BR. Worked great

My stepdad was in to the Farmalls. He would buy em, rebuild, paint, and decal them. I don't recall ever seeing a BN though. He worked at a sawmill, so he buy bundles of slabs. We used the buzz saw to cut them. Definitely something to respect and stay clear of lol.

Thos old tractors are pretty neat. Nice to see Big Stripes purring away, too.

I do love the sound those old twin cylinders make. I spent many hours running a 720. And it was a good tractor for us.

I love the sound of the old hit & miss engines, I always found the sound soothing. Thanks for posting this!

For sure the John Deere engine is a model E. I suspect horse, and a half, but without closer examination I'm not sure. They also made a 3, and 6 horse. Homemade pie is the best. Cherry is in my top three choices. Thank you.

Nice video! I've never been around one of the old John Deere "D" models, but I spent a lot of time pulling a hay wagon with an early production "L" model when I was a kid. If I remember correctly, it had a two-cylinder Hercules engine which produced a massive 10 horsepower and was mated to a three-speed Ford transmission. Very happy to see Big Stripes(straw boss) back at home and keeping you in-line.👍

Last year was the 100th anniversary of the John Deere D. I could be wrong but somebody said they were the longest-running model. I'm guessing you're 52 is probably electric start?

Just kidding! It's a very nice tractor. I have a JD myself.

I think the California chapter #19 of the Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners Club sells reproductions. An online membership to ACMOC is a great place to find hard to find parts and tools. They have a for sale and wanted section on the form. Digital membership is around $35 a year. Much appreciate the kind words.

I cut hundreds of acres with a John Deere D and no.5 mower at 11 yrs old. At 13 yrs old i unchained the tractor on the trailer. Went to start the D no electric start. Started on the first crank and it backed off the trailer by itself. Forgot to take it out of gear. I don't know why i put it in reverse. The front tire just about ran me over. I jumped of the trailer just in time

The trees are Dad's Pet Project here. He buys these little ones from the, Soil Conservation District. Then he spends countless hours weeding and watering them. It's really tough to get anything to grow here. 😉

lot of backlash on JD moving production to Mexico..many commentators swore to never purchase parts/equipment from them again..shame on all points..

Enjoyed the show, thanks for taking us along. Also enjoyed the sound of the John Deere. I spent many hours on a diesel 70 with pony motor start working summer fallow in Nebraska panhandle back in the 1960's. If you ever get to Gering NE check out the Heritage of the Plains Museum there. They recently acquired the collection of restored tractors the fellow I worked for did. Farmall, John Deere, Case, Oliver.

That's my favorite area of Nebraska. Mom was born and raised in Chadron so I get through there once in awhile. I'll definitely stop by for a visit when I am in the area. Pretty sure dad's been a few hours on a diesel 70 for one of our neighbors. 👍
