You're kidding - that would have taken middle and off stumps about thre quarters of the way up. Ntini was playing back, not forward. Such a shame so many have focused on a few lbw decisions made by highly rated, independent umpires. What about the quality of the bowling from the entire attack for a full day? As a days play between two tough competitive teams, it doesn't get a lot better than that

I attended the match and it was so dark that cars outside the stadium had lights on at least 10 overs before Ntini lost his wicket. There was no ways they should have been out there. The tv camera filters make the picture appear far brighter than was the case. It was the sheer aura and authority of that Aussie team, the charisma of Warne, that ensured they were handed victory by the umpires. Around 30 minutes before this ,the umpires only allowed spin with Symonds and Warne bowling and Symonds quietly slipped in several bouncers at 130 plus km off a spinners run up to which the umpires turned a blind eye to. Several of the batsmen complained that they couldn't pick up the line of the ball in the gloom. That's the darkest I've seen cricket played in. Yet they didn't even call for the light meter as was the norm at the time.

Ntini too so long to get out there could almost have been timed out!

DRS would've come in handy in that game. Umpires under immense pressure but you can't deny the fact that Warne had them bamboozled.

It doesn't show Warne came at 91-0. It shows he took his first wicket at that score.

I was a big critic of third umpire when it arrived, on the basis that it curtailed the spontaneous excitement of a wicket. Totally changed my view now and these highlights show why. Although maybe they do not show the ones that should have been given but were not. The level of umpiring looked poor in terms of decisions being any better than marginal. I look back on a lot of hat-tricks on youtube and at least one of most of them were inside edges or another dubious dismissal. So glad that umpires not final decision now.
