My dad, Milan Vosvick Jr. was the warehouse manager of that corner Boury's warehouse in the late 60's early 70's and I spent a lot of Saturday mornings in there and running around the then vacant already B&O train depot.

This was a less than carload facility for the B&O. It was called a freight station. Think ups but with trains instead of trucks. Adjacent to this was another freight station that can be seen in the background that was the Pennsylvania freight station. A few blocks away near where the bus station was there was a third freight station that belonged to the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad. All these entities brought in huge amounts of freight that went into local storage areas for the businesses in the area. One used to be able to read old articles from the news register and the inteligencer back when we had a morning and evening paper. In the early part of the 20th century these freight houses did millions of dollars worth of business and that was at a time when a few thousand dollars was a living wage.
