Camera focus, professional lighting, bokeh blur (background defocus) and brightness adjustments all make a huge difference to how skin texture looks in videos! Pores, spots/acne, peach fuzz, hair, discolouration, scarring, dry/oily patches etc, on skin are all NORMAL and nothing to be ashamed of. No one in real life and natural light looks the same as they will under studio lighting with high quality cameras. Please don't compare your natural skin to what you see online, especially on sites like TikTok and Instagram which utilise filters almost constantly. Most phones these days also have skin softening or smoothing effects in their camera apps. Photo editing and retouching is common and used in almost all media, far beyond just adverts and TV now. The beauty standards promoted on social media are sometimes outlandish and unrealistic. With that in mind, we want to remind you that you are perfect as you are. Makeup is for fun, creativity, enhancement, or whatever you want it to be, but it will always look like makeup on the skin. Your beauty comes from YOU, and you don't need makeup to be that. ❤️

I am 51 years old, and having DID and aging was a struggle for a long time, luckily my current host always takes care of the routines of eating and hygiene, I think its because they are only 29 and they don't like seeing the signs of aging so much... when you said aging means you survived, that really hit home, that is what one of my alters says to ground us when we are struggling, they tell me how old I am and what year and that we are ok and safe. Keep up the great content and taking care of yourself.

Being surprised that you're still alive in your 20s hits home. I've had depression and other mental health struggles for as long as I can remember and I never thought seriously about my future because I figured I wouldn't make it that far anyway. Needless to say, I'm 23 now and still struggling but I'm happy I survived. Thanks for the content! It is a treat to see this channel post again. I've been subscribed for years, and 3 months ago, realized that I am part of a system during a mental health crisis. Your channel's education helped me understand what was happening and informed my headmates on how to respond, as many of them were aware of each other prior to my knowledge. I most align with "host" since I identify most with this body and its history, but I prefer "vessel." :) In any case, thank you to all in your system. I wish the best for you all and your channel and am delighted to see something lighthearted. Taly of Purgatory

Kya I just have to say that what you said about proof of aging is proof that you made it through the rough parts and I started tearing up. I currently have developed some stretch marks from gaining weight because of birth control to help regulate my cycle, plus I am getting older, but those stretch marks have been making me so insecure and just hate my legs rn but what you said about aging really resonated with me. Yeah my body might have marks and spots and stuff I don’t like but those things are proof that my body is still alive and I’m not the same depressed girl I was a few years ago. I’m growing and that’s amazing. So thank you Kya 🥰

My therapist said that (since I was first diagnosed with depression/anxiety/panic disorder/the works lol) my mind is almost kinda still stuck at that point in my late teenage years. I feel like that's common for a lot of people who go through things during their teen years/etc. But what you said about surviving and still going, that's some powerful stuff. A lot of times people forget that, especially people dealing with mental illnesses.

Make-up is totally an art form and the whole process is so grounding and fun it makes me want to try fun colors and styles. 🥰 You did an amazing job, Kya! I love Kya, she´s so fun and chill! Also, I´m glad the videos are back and that this was the first one. Its gonna sound silly, but Chloe´s really influenced how I do my makeup today so I´m intrigued and happy to get more tips! You look gorgeous as always!

I commented too soon, your wisdom is way beyond your 25 years Kya, I respect you so much the whole system as well, I really think you are saner then anyone you would consider without a mental health diagnosis. Glad you are thriving and happy things are going well with your case

Oh dear, the flick immediately made my mind go back to Kyle holding the eyeliner like a weapon and drawing a super-thick line on his face. XD

In my opinion, probably the "simplest" step-by-step tutorial on eyeliner for hooded eyes! Can't wait to try it. 🤩 Speaking of cateyes, your furbaby's eyes are absolutely amazing! 😻

The cat eye and some of your mannerisms in the video, especially the posing, remind me so much of Nina!

I know this is just a small tidbit of Kya talking to the camera in an edited video, but they seem genuinely happier and so much more at ease! I hope everyone in the system is doing as well as they are able 😊

Thank you for the freckle love! As a child I was always bullied for my freckles, and sometimes I still feel down about them... but as a 27 year old I'm learning to love them again!
