Is it hydrofluoric acid or hydrochloric acid ?

this is lye (sodium hydroxide) not acid the same thing you use to make soap. hydrofluoric acid will dissolve silica and those are your only two options

I just wanted to verify . Also I noticed they solution was hot when you added the 1oz of hydrochloric acid , is this right. Thank you !

You first off never pore acid into a base. At this point in the video there was almost no lye left in the liquid. Only the nugget in clean water heated in a well ventilated area with your lungs at a safe distance hot acid is bad very very bad. And yes about 1 ounce
