It must have been a proud moment for you to have all those kids mostly young girls cheering you on. No doubt you inspired a few to try the sport. Excellent work.

Thomas Gilbert is definitely the pro I'd most want to play a round with.... Great video and I really like the idea of an accuracy-distance competition. Keep the quality content coming!

After the comp when you and Thomas were just ripping them out there for fun was the best part!

what is with the OB lines in distance competitions? Just make it like a base ball field with foul ball lines.
@disctay3 ай бұрын
It is an accuracy competition as well as distance. No OB lines!

What a fun looking event with the kiddos running to help. Great throw. 484 is a bomb and only 38’ off the line. And what a cool rule to have, distance minus accuracy. So awesome.

You are a phenomenal player, for sure. I commend you on your power and speed. But, it's easy to see where you can get yet more distance and power, as you're making the same error as a bunch of other top FPO players - so it's not rare. It is turning the rear foot so that your toes point at the ground, (while driving the rear knee in towards your other knee) that turns your torso. And it is torso rotation speed which dictates distance in disc golf. You are not properly committing to the plant foot, and lifting your rear foot clear of the ground, so that you can instantly turn your foot to point at the ground. Many FPO players fail to get completely off the rear foot, and this radically reduces distance. Once traction is achieved on the plant foot, your rear foot has to get clear of the ground, by at least the height it takes to turn the toes towards the ground, and once that move's been made, you're gonna kick that rear foot hard backwards, just as your elbow is opening - this maintains full balance on the plant foot, and equalises effort on both sides of the body.

You seem to understand the biomechanics of this well. I get what you are saying. Essentially the full follow through/pivot with the plant foot the so the rear foot naturally rotates over as well. Kind of like baseball pitchers follow through after a pitch. Ok now my question is I see some people plant naturally on their foot/ balls of their foot and I see some people rotate while front foot heel is planted. What would you say is optimal for balance and power

i was hitting 470ft yesterday with no wind where im at.. i took like 1month off to let my elbow heal up a bit and i can tell im throwing further no doubt about it.. if i had a nice tailwind i bet i could get close to 600ft
