I really have no idea what this was all about-honestly. She crashed. She mixed up some goo that gave her abode some more power. She got emotional, again. Suddenly there was a guy from somewhere. She went outside and saw a ship taking off, then the ship came back and crashed.

Finally... Someone with a 'make sense thinking' as opposed to the 'ass kissers' here that cheer just by watching a fly take a dump... Cheap props suitable for a B- budget movie, bad acting too rushed and childish fit for a five year old tantrum and meaningless ending into a category 5 tornado type that this 'astronaut' could simply walk through without even a strand of her hair 'moving' or flapping in the wind... How does any of this make sense??

Wtf is happening?!? All I know for sure, is hat I just spent 12 minutes trying to figure out what I was watching, and before I managed that, it ended with...well...even more unknown riddles. If the aim of this video was to confuse, well done!! Excellent job.

I second your impression. And add to it the lack of lead's emotional control in a situation where feelings must remain in check. Lastly, the music and background noise were too high and there was lack of credibility with respect to science and physics. This was just a drama somewhere in the universe, I guess.

@juliaconnell
@juliaconnell 3 жыл бұрын
@@daviddamascus9657 no, not at all Just I have a different - perspective - than most people seem to have (most, not all...) Ok so the ship crashed - yes - the title is "distance" - re-read the quote at the start Physical distance - her part of the ship, a minor part, broke awake when they crashed - she is now stuck with a literal physical chasm between them - physical distance There is also visible distance - the conditions are very hostile - you cant SEE very far - she is relying on her technology - her scanners - to look for him, see if he is alive or not Her communications array is damaged - more DISTANCE - they cant communication (refer you back to the quote..) So she: Doesnt know if he survived the crash or not, there are many 'distances' between them Is running out of energy / life support - Even if she manages to get the chemical reaction going (restoring power & oxygen levels - giving her more time, more hope...) There is a major storm heading right for her - she is unlikely to survive Just as she has lost ALL HOPE - her communications array lights up - *he* has "fixed" the ship He doesn't know if SHE is alive She goes out into the storm (which us JUST beginning to hit) - against the advice of the AI / computer (telling her, her suit wont survive the storm - absoutely true - the FULL FORCE - lucky to survive *inside* but the storm is only just starting... She risks it, with her cracked helmet & all - to try to *communicate back* "distance" - quote... He takes off - he has "FIXED" the ship - "dont leave me" It appears that he does - It appears that he flew off - without her But THEN - he comes back !!! He lands the ship (is it a bumpy landing - yes - it's in the middle of a storm - it's a two person crew - he's alone.. He does NOT *crash* the ship - as many seem to think - just got it working enoutlrgh to breach the chasm, so they die together - NO! He FLEW OFF he came back You can see her broken communications array partly light up - all hope is gone - it - he - comes BACK Rough landing (NOT crash) Yes she survives the storm just starting - (slow - CAPTURUNG this moment when all hope was lost - prepared to die (you can see her give up - inside - before the poor communication from him...) - hoped again Risked everything - went out into the storm (he left "dont leave me") - he came back FLYING the "fixed" ship Yes - the communication from him WAS challenging to understand - another "distance" poor communication, lack of communication, misunderstandings Not just two people - humanity - (maybe I'm reading too much into this - maybe - the combined work of a bunch if creative talented people..) So he "fixed" the ship (her part was just a fragment - you can see it break away when they did CRASH onto this hostile environment) He FLEW AWAY on the "fixed ship" He came back - he came BACK - and rescued her - (she was in shock - expecting to die - savoring the moment - 'time stands still' at the end - storm only just starting - the AI/computer was right - even inside the shelter unlikely to survive when FULL STORM unleashed - but just starting So ship is "fixed" He came back and LANDED ( not crashed) the ship (Maybe impact so we - like her - know this is REAL - ) Happy ending

I really didn't get this film. The sticky tape on the helmet at the beginning was hilarious. I couldn't take that serious. When she woke up gasping for breath she had no space suit on her so I can't see how putting her helmet on would have helped her. And then in the next scene she had the whole suit on. The storm at the end looked massive yet she had no difficulty walking through it. I had no connection with the character. Couldn't build any sympathy for her. Her eyeliner and false lashes seemed out of place. Sorry, but the film didn't hit the target with me.

🔵 That smile at the end,..... I couldn't understand some of the dialogue (especially some of what the computer said), I felt I must have missed something when she smiled at the end, I didn't really feel like I had a grip on the plot and then Starting in at about 4 minutes alot of the dialogue was unintelligible, especially the communication from the other ship, which was a shame really..... I probably would have understood the plot better if I had understood that message from the other ship better, it seemed to me to be a key element in the story that was never clear to me, I don't even have any idea why he crashed at the end.

I don't think he crashed at the end - just a bit of a bumpy landing in the storm, with a damaged ship - if you go back the start, the bit she is in is small compared to the test of the ship - when it breaks off - when they both crashed - he manages to convey that he's fixed the ship (she think he leaves her cause he could find no sign of life & her communications array is down - just as she was looking for him, trying to work out if he was alive) - But he comes back - happy ending - they both get off that godforsaken rock That's my understanding anyways

I would have written it differently. All reentry craft are built very rugged in the future with quadruple redundant backup systems so they can make it to their landings. Technology is much better than what you show here. AI is off the charts and is more easy to get along with and to use. Bigger ships always have one to two maybe even three landing craft. Space suit technologies are enhanced and way better than what you show here.*The golden question for script resources, is Are there very ancient outpost by aliens out there and the answers yes.*You need to also proof read your concepts as well as scripts. Okay, but try again. I would draw ands sketch all of this out, while you make another one. Thanks

Can't watch when an astronaut loses patience, these are mandatory in the skill set when applying and also given in training, and this astronaut just throws the tumbler at the wall. Enough of this crap! And switching off!

I didnt like her throwing the equipment around that might be useful later on. Too much anger for her to be an astronaut. The ships computer and the guy were more relaxed in the situation. At the end he went back for her in the storm and crashed his ship, myself I would have saved myself.

Not that good. Good things here and there, but few details ruin the whole thing. Two amongst other : when you are low on oxygen you don't stop breathing, you inhalate carbon dyoxide and you die without knowing it if you are aslept. And this heavy make up on the eyes ! So ridiculous !

I really appreciate that you have to work a little to work out what is happening - where not everything is handed to you - just sometimes a little too dark at beginning and little tricky to hear the dialogue esp at the end - (Everest? - kiwi accents? Aussie school...?) 🤔 - hmm maybe these things - the lack of communication - visibility deliberate...??? (is that foreshadowing the chasm in the opening sequence? - before you see the ship fly over?) So maybe these minor 'flaws' were - deliberate - as part the "DISTANCE" stupendous work - acting, script, special effects - really impressive, really enjoyed, thank you ❤

Okay I seem to have gotten a lot more of the background and storyline than some others? If it helps I am not a linear thinker so I process data streams out of sequence well. I rather liked how environmental sounds were done. I think the limit in visual and spacial texture via lighting were very artistic. I wonder though if it added emphasis to some of the dectractors in the film? Such as her movements in the storm and her fit of anger? It certainly made the mining scenes disatisfying. Very enjoyable overall and I didn't hate the ending. 🙂👍

I feel the same way - took me a while to work out what was going on - but MY understanding of what happened seems to be quite different to others - not the first time it has happened (or second - or.. let's just say it happens a LOT). you might like the two channels I'm subscribed to (if you're not already) Dust (also sci-fi) & Omeleto - (varied shorts) Apart from the awesome content, the film makers often are in the comments section when freshly uploaded (Which has been useful at times - I go - I think THIS was intended - or I read THAT into this - other people argue with me - say I'm wrong - the film maker says - yes - that is what was intended - and people are STILL saying I'm wrong afterwards (in the same thread) - go figure - people are strange 😂 (Not that I'm always right - far from - 🤣)

@@juliaconnell A kindred spirit! Hello my wonderful friend! I watch Dust and Omeletto both. I like picking up extra subtle threads, sometimes not intended but those influences the makers will agree are there, or not. Lol. If we all only saw things from one perspective we would miss out on a lot of good in life. ♡

Excellent visuals and main character. Should of had a roll of duct tape for the helmet. Hostile planet - nice. There are two drawbacks to the story. First, dialog between computer and main character and from the other ship very unintelligible. Secondly, some background who, what, when, where, and why was MIA as there is nothing to give the story meaning.

There was a ship with two people on it - it crashed - the captain was on the main part of the ship - The planet/moon they landed on was very hostile - their communications were down, the visibility was negligible so they could not SEE if the other person was still alive - and there was a physical chasm separating her from searching further afield - so she was relying on scanners She was running out of power and therefore life support / oxygen Meanwhile, on the other side of the chasm he managed to fix the ship (her was only a fragment that broke away during the crash He could communicate enough with her to let her know he had fixed the ship and needed to know if she was still alive She went out into the storm to try & communicate back She saw him take off - thought he had left without her He landed the ship before the storm got too powerful and rescued her
@juliaconnell
@juliaconnell 3 жыл бұрын
I THINK tthe lack of communication was deliberate - the title is "distance" they were separated by a literal chasm - the inability to SEE if the other was alive - AND the *inability to communicate* across communication array
