I recently purchased the Wally Junior MagSafe wallet (January 2024) and I think it may have been updated. The back has different stamping and it weighs 47 grams now. The extra weight may be why I think its magnets are as strong as the Apple MagSafe wallet.

I picked this up a few months back and glad I picked this up. I carry 3 CCs and DL, as well as 3-4 USA bills folded in 3rds. Initially looked at the Apple Wallet, but as mentioned, could only hold 3 cards and no cash (almost got my 4 cards stuck in the Apple Wallet when testing at an Apple Store). I like the option of carry as a wallet, and the ability to place on my phone (iPhone 12 mini) when needed. My favorite MagSafe accessory. Pull strap is awesome.

8 months later and it's still working wonderful. The corner edge along the front slot has worn slightly and the front facing side has got a nice patina. I pair with the Apple Leather MagSafe wallet and the wallet has worn better than the Apple phone case. I can fit in 4 credit cards with 2-3 folded US bills. Have had no issue with Clipper card readers so far.

I am getting it now from their website. Signed up as new user and getting 15% off as well. Jut listening to your review and know this is what I want. You are not biased on your review and I watched other videos as well where you were to the point for other wallets. Thank you !

As usual amazing flow of review, other reviewers should definitely learn from here and am still not sure why suscribers are less, Mark one observation was you meant cards 4 but the video shows cash 4

Hey Mark , good presentation, very good wallet. I got in the begging of Nov the Wally bifold 5.0 and I fall in love with that wallet. So I ordered some more wallets from them including the magsafe Wally Junior among others. (Wally Euro, Wally Sleeve etc) . Mark go on with this amazing presentations.

Great selection! I have all the Wally wallets and need to get around to doing a round up on them.

Will the 5.0 stick to apple MagSafe?

@@arnoldp3740 no. But they have another model that you can use it with magsafe

Been looking around for a MagSafe wallet for a while now. I think this might be the best one around if you need 4 cards and no extra fuss like kickstand etc.

I can see the circular magent protruding, or at the very least, becoming more visible with time as the leather softens.

Yes, and especially for full grain leather. We have a review on the Geometric Goods Magsafe and it really shows as there's no internal structure besides leather.

Maybe it’s just my perspective, but in the pocket test all the wallets are upside down. I don’t think cards would be as likely to fall out if the opening was oriented up, and in the case of the JJ Leathersmith Lucias that flap is easier to control on both the insert and removal. (Great wallet BTW, I bought mine about 2 months before your review so it was great to see what you thought.)
@Pedrothos3 жыл бұрын
And keep up the great reviews.
@walletopia3 жыл бұрын
While it sits in your pocket and if the magsafe wallet doesn't have a mechanism to keep the cards in, then yes, cards could very well slip out. Once you pull your phone/wallet out, then the orientation makes sense, so it's a catch.

I was wondering, if you didn’t review wallets would you still collect and switch between wallets often?
@walletopia3 жыл бұрын
Likely not as often, but I still would depending on where I'm going, how I'm dressed, travel, etc.

You mention in the review that you carry a work id in the wallet. Do you have to remove the id for it to work, or can you leave it in the wallet? It sounds like the exact wallet I want, but taking out my work id to wirelessly tap it is a deal breaker.
@walletopia3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the wallet. I'm not a fan of RFID in wallets...it's really a marketing scam, so I like being able to keep my access card in my wallet and just tap it without pulling it out. For MagSafe wallets, however, due to possible conflicts between ApplePay and RFID payments on cards it makes sense these wallets have it.

Hey Mark, great review, though my experience with the Wally Junior is a little different. I was really disappointed in the magnet strength. It was noticeably weaker than any other MagSafe wallet I tested. Plus, the pull strap constantly got hung up when I had 3-4 cards in it. I contacted Distil about this and they said there were “production inconsistencies” with the magnet and that the new version is stronger than Apple’s. They also said that some wallets have a problem with the pull strap and others don’t. The problem had to do with cards catching where the ribbon gets sewn into the fabric liner. They said this is an easy fix for the next production run.
@gabbparungao2 жыл бұрын
Same experience with the pull tab. Cards can’t be inserted coz it gets caught inside the ribbon for some reason.

I’m new to the channel. Why the “boos” when you mention it has RFID?
@walletopia2 жыл бұрын
I have a personal vendetta on wallet manufactures that hype the threat of RFID sniffing theft so they can sell RFID blocking lined wallets. The gravity of the threat is just not there, I have a couple videos where I talk about it. RFID material built into the wallet is my main gripe. If RFID is a concern, get some sleeves or blocking cards and get whatever wallet you want. There's no need to buy into the hype of needing a specific RFID wallet.

I enjoy the Apple MagSafe wallet I must admit. I was late to the party so luckily got the v2 one with ‘Find My’ enabled on it. The Distil Union one looks superb but I’m not a fan of pull straps anyway. More cards is good but then whats the point? May as well have a fuller wallet in a pocket or bag. The whole point of these wallets is minimal carry 🙂👍🏻
@erictingsee2 жыл бұрын
Might be perfect If only they could have added an anti slip material on the backside.

If it was April’s fools day, I would say “good one.” You say that you need a magnet where friction normally does the job, but you also say that inserting cards makes it stiff. You do Origami to insert bills. You may never get the bills out, unless you use tweezers, but this is like a 9 out of 10, lol. Cheers, Chris PS: I did get the joke on it smells good despite I carried it.
