I've had my Frenchie with airtag for about 2 weeks now, absolutely love it. I came from a cheap "Dockers" bifold, and this seriously feels like there's nothing in my back pocket and doesn't cause my any back issues leaving it in my back pocket and driving for hours. The airtag is fantastic, already used it a few times as my toddler likes to hide my wallet.

Love to hear that, i ordered mine 10 days ago, but the larger version tho. I’m concerned that the leather may damage with my keys being in the pocket aswell

The thing that would make this wallet perfect is a driver’s license window or special compartment on the left inside body when you open it. I don’t feel comfortable if I can’t instantly visually verify that my ID is always there every time I open my wallet, otherwise I worry that it could possibly fall out without me noticing until the next time I go looking for it amongst the other cards. I actually ordered one anyway, but I’m going to have to figure out a way to make sure my ID stays put somehow, even if it means a custom modification.

After this watching this vid I took the plunge and ordered. There was an extra week’s delay (beyond the promised 25-35 day fulfilment promise) but that was apparently due to C19/govt issues beyond the company’s control. And I have to say that the customer support team was very responsive to my enquiries. Once the order was actually fulfilled delivery (to New Zealand) was very fast - 5 days and it overtook several other Internet purchases that started earlier yet are still in transit! This video is excellent, and I did do additional research, but I was still pleasantly surprised when I got the wallet in my hands! The craftsmanship is excellent and the design is very clever - especially in minimising the apparent bulk of the AirTag. I’m absolutely delighted with the wallet and heartily recommend it. I also appreciate the quality of my interactions with customer support and commend Frenchie. And, yes, I had to do a smell test - it passed 😂 Thanks for the excellent video/review! This was easily the best single source of info I came across in my research and I’m now a subscriber and fan of your channel.

It will be interesting to see how many wallet makers try something like this. There's a big Apple Fan Boy/Girl market, but other tracker makers like Tile still have a nice thin profile that works better in wallets.

Hows the sound coming through? Shouldnt the white side be turned outside since its used as the speaker?

They represent it with the "front" showing and the design supports that versus if you wanted to expose the "back" or white side. However, I did test it and you can have the white side exposed and it will hold.

Have used the Tile “card” in many wallets with good, unnoticeable results. Just can’t warm-up to using a lumpy air-tag for this application. Many other applications-the air-tag works fine.

Agreed, the tile is much thinner, which I believe Apple could have done, but like most things apple, the design aesthetics drove the outcome versus utility.

@@walletopia Apple’s “shiny object” marketing is affective for selling air-tags, but this is a tracking product. Traditionally, trackers are discrete. This showcases an electronic zit in the middle some fine leather and the wallet doesn’t look too hot with the “tag” absent. Just my take-

Already had three of frenchie's models and all of them are exquisitely made plus the smell is really good, often pulls it out just to take a snif ..I think getting addicted to the smell.

does it make a difference in bulk or fit if the airbag is inserted the other side (white side out, silver side in)?

The white side is more of a wafer so it is thinner than the chrome side which sticks out.

Usability is a 2-3 for me.. I have it and the cards slide out easily but sometimes it can be a pain in the ass to put them back… I also have a wallet which was 70 bucks, and although it doesn’t add the airtag… feature is much better

Trifolds are far too bulky for my tastes. I also think the Tile card is a better alternative to an Apple airtag too. Great looking wallet, but it's clearly not for me.

I used to put in the max cards and the firestorm I had about overstuffing wallets made me back off. 😂 I did test it and it can indeed hold 12 cards, no issues.

I noticed that a coin can stick to the AirTag and it kills it’s sound. If a metal card was in the wallet(Apple or AMEX) for example. Is it possible it could interfere with the noice the air tag makes?

Love your reviews, hate the wallet. So many things wrong with it in my opinion. The first thing I noticed was the place where the puck goes, it looks something like a surgery site after a tumor was removed. Magnets are another thing that don’t go with wallets. I also don’t care for the pull straps. There’s nothing I like about this thing. On a positive note, I love the box and would probably purchase the wallet just to get the box and then toss the wallet away! 😀. Thanks for the review, I always look forward to them!

Agreed, Apple (like usual), is more concerned with design aesthetics than utility. Many have thought this would sign the death knell for Tile, but only Apple Fan Boys/Girls will care about this.

@@walletopia I find the thought that airtags would kill tile confusing since apple only holds about 27% of the mobile phone space. Whilst this is a lot, it means the majority of the mobile phone market can’t use airtags and would have to go w/ tile or chipolo for device trackers anyway.

Calm it down, make it smooth, easy going for my age! 😉 😂 So, the wallet then……….love the idea; love the quality; even love the trifold as it takes all the note sizes well. I don’t love the bulk by the time you add the AirTag, however, it is a seriously good design though. Yeah, nice but not for me 🙂👍🏻 (Jeesh, I’m turning into some wallet snob)
