Angie….As you were listening I could see the pain in your eyes….😢 So sorry..Hugs to you. And I agree ..it’s a great song . I don’t think I’ve ever heard it before. David Draiman and Ann Wilson vocals are so powerful….I felt the song. You should check out Disturbed’s rendition of “The Sound of Silence.” It’s phenomenal.

Hi Angie It's awesome. Ann still.has it at 73. Heartbis on tour this year celebrating their 50th. His bandmate wrote this song about his divorce. David got a divorce a little while later

This one hits me in the feels, too, Honey. There's a lot going on there that many of us can relate to, unfortunately. But the song ... David and Ann ... OMG, I want more! A whole album full! Disturbed's Divisive album was four years in the making, during which two of the band members' marriages broke down. Drummer Mike Wengren got divorced early in the pandemic and guitarist Dan Donegan went through a split in early 2022. This song is about a disintegrating relationship where each party struggles with letting go. It was inspired by the ending of Donegan's marriage. "That was a really personal one for me," Dan Donegan told Billboard. "During COVID-19, I was going through a divorce after 18 years of marriage. Part of that divorce process is that there was still a great deal of love we have for each other, and we couldn't imagine our lives without each other. Just that letting go, letting somebody go that you still love, but maybe the marriage just might not be working anymore... It was touching on that. It was just very personal." Then David got divorced in Feb 2023

Angie I am a new subscriber. 🤗 Hugs to you! Sorry the song 🎶 hit so close to home! As David Draiman says sometimes Darkness can show you The Light! At the time the song was written while Dan Donegan was going through a divorce. David said he had no idea he too would be going through a divorce and made it difficult for him to sing. Disturbed had no plans for special guests to be on any of their albums. Once the song was finished they realized it needed to be performed as a duet. Ann Wilson messaged David through social media letting him know how much she and her husband enjoyed their version of Sound of Silence. David considers Ann Wilson as the GOAT of rock music! He asked if she would perform the duet with him. She said YES! Your reactions bring light into the darkness! 🙏 Thank you for sharing your videos with us!
