Can you help me, I am a guitar player with a 5 string bass and clueless. If I tune it this way, will the 2nd (low) string handle being de-tuned from E to C? Isn't this why I got a 5 string in the first place to avoid a multi-tone downtune? To remedy this is any special gauge recommended for that 2nd string? I'm tuned B E A D G now. My internet searches for 5 string bass tunes has been pretty fruitless.
